Matt:

a little flashback. Music spin a while since we've heard Fugazi have a lot of the podcast playing on spotlights what is up everybody, and I believe I have successfully started the show on YouTube, so to oh, gotta cut this off. Hang on, whoop. There we go. What is up everybody? welcome to another episode of the chasing daylight podcast. We are live on YouTube right now. We've got some viewers on there. Thank you so much, dan. Let me know in the chat before we started to make sure I hit the stream start. Just got the thumbs up from Vavz. It's working. So, yes, we're good to go. So thanks everybody that is on that platform. We appreciate it. As you can see, joe has greatly enhanced his background except for the wrinkles yeah, for some reason I don't know why he can't tell that that is like a bright ass star behind him. I think it's funny. We've been telling him to do something about it for a while and you're on mute, joe.

Joe:

I shine like one oh okay.

Matt:

And then Vavz says something about it and all of a sudden he's changing it.

Joe:

I ordered. There's gonna be a backdrop here at some point, and I don't know. This shit is too close. It's gonna be too close. I feel claustrophobic in here, but it's better it's making progress, making progress.

Matt:

I was getting tired of seeing the Dyson and the reflection of this van, and then the like leveler ruler the potty squatty and the the diaper genie and yeah, anyways, it's all behind the curtain now. Wizard of Oz also want to give some love to Mr Greenlee. He was in town this weekend, had some lunch with him. We all did actually out at Barcode Burger today a little disappointed. They didn't have any chicken wings and stock. They sold them all.

Joe:

that was impressive but first time out there I was super impressed with the food, like that burger. Theo got the rest of my leftovers and he demolished it their burgers are legit, absolutely legit. I mean, they've been voted like one of the best hamburgers in Vegas and I I can see it, i see it, i definitely want to get back.

Matt:

Yeah, we all agreed that if it was on, like Eastern Horizon Ridge, it would be killer yeah, uber eats in it all the time it's been a while, since I've been down in that area in the daytime and yeah like the walking done. Yes yeah, if you're in Vegas visiting, don't head too far east on Flamingo, i mean you get to a lot of people gotta go to the strip they visit.

Jeremy :

They gotta go hit that target, so they see it yeah, i saw someone running out with a microwave there once, so we don't go to that target anymore ugh, good heavens when we lived downtown, we used to go there all the time, and it's worse than it was when we lived downtown.

Joe:

So yeah, it's people making cement beds out there. They're just laying on the sidewalk dude, it's crazy.

Matt:

It's crazy. How about the debut of the Vegas sphere 4th of July? they turned that thing on, dude. It is getting like worldwide recognition and I haven't seen a golf ball yet. I mean, people have been photoshopping them and making them, but I haven't seen a golf ball yet. The basketball for summer league that's going on was ridiculous. It's absolutely insane. Jeremy, you were down on the strip last week. You guys drove by it. I seen it. You know construction up close, but how was it with all the lights on?

Jeremy :

it's insane, like when you're kind of on the strip or even like on the 15, looking at the sphere right past Venetian, it looks fake, like it messes with your head because it looks flat from over there, but when you're up next to it, it's just am I like really looking at this right now? it's just so crazy. So we've seen, we saw the earth, we saw the moon, we saw the Microsoft or Mac screensaver paint splashes. We've seen the basketball. So it's it's crazy.

Matt Gontarek:

It's so weird like it's the perfect place for the eyeball creepy and I was telling Brooklyn.

Matt:

I said they need to just fix it on a plane coming in and then there was a video of that happening. It's so freaking creepy. It's awesome this tour is on YouTube what's going on, adam? lots of viewers in here so I'll be careful. What I say that's not as bro, you know it. Speak your mind, speak your mind. This is carefree and happy place for everybody in the golfing world. We'll get to golf eventually. I'm up to 8 days that I have not been on the golf course.

Joe:

I was going to say carbs. I did carbs today.

Matt:

Joe gets on my ass about having some breaded chicken.

Joe:

He says I'm 8 days clean of carbs.

Matt:

I said 5 days of low carbs he goes. I didn't touch the french fries, didn't touch fry, didn't touch french fry meanwhile the chicken fingers are breaded but hey look, there's not a ton of carbs in these clips.

Jeremy :

I'm happy for you.

Matt:

I finally hit the 210 mark. At the beginning of the year. I was at 230, pretty happy. Right now. You can give me all the shit you want, i don't care, i'm happy for you you're making conscious decisions.

Joe:

That's the first step. Admitting you have a problem should be the step before that. You didn't admit the problem today, but you're making a conscious effort what's the problem? carbs. Yeah, i didn't say that.

Matt:

I said I am dialed back my carb and take a ton way back.

Joe:

Jeremy hasn't had a carb in a long time. He wanted a piece of the chicken finger.

Matt:

I grabbed from Eric and.

Matt Gontarek:

I told him I'm not giving it to you because I know you get spiked after Juan's flaming fajitos last night, i was pretty much out of ketosis this morning.

Matt:

I'm working my way back in give me shit why you sit there and drink beer hey, this is happy dad and I'm only drinking happy dad tonight because Eric was in town.

Joe:

This is his drink of choice. I figure I'd give it a shot. Joe Adam wants to know if you're recording from inside a tent. I'm not sure.

Matt:

I'm not sure I'm recording from inside a tent yes, i built a TP.

Joe:

I got a little. I got a little fire going on. Back here we're cooking up some chilaquiles. Well, that's not really. It's not really Native American bison, yeah, bison. Yeah, it's a halo at the beginning. I'm on youtube over here. Dan says it's a halo and I said that earlier. I shine like one oh, geez, welcome Jeremy.

Matt:

You didn't play any golf this past week, right, i did not. Nor did I. Yeah, we'll just skip right over that. Joe was out at mountain falls, though how'd that go.

Joe:

It was good courses in fantastic shape. It looks the same as when we were out there for the VGN tournament it's. The fairways were very good, greens were great. I couldn't put for shit. I could not make anything until the 18th hole, but obviously great company and Trey and Chad and Julian. It was a good time and that drive is not very difficult.

Matt:

I can make that drive very easily.

Joe:

It's a lot easier than coyote springs that's why I told Trey this drive is so much easier than coyote. Is it a better course than coyote? no, is the conditions better? maybe I don't know, but it's a great course.

Matt:

I can play it often and the drive is pretty simple yeah, and since they've done all the improvements on that road, you can blaze through there really quickly and there's just that long stretch. You're headed towards Perump, but since it's on the outskirts of Perump, you can get to it pretty quickly and people that live in mountains edge that's like piece of cake that's what I was thinking while I was driving out there.

Joe:

I was driving by mountains, edge and roads ranch. This is closer than coyote for them. Yeah, they did up their green fees because they were $75 oh, that is a big increase yeah, when I pulled up to the range, i had like 15 or 20 minutes before just to warm up or whatever and I asked Trey, did they charge you $75? I was like man, i don't remember this place ever being more than $60.

Matt:

They keep on seeing Trey out there. They're like we gotta this guy's coming back something's up.

Joe:

Yeah, they need to make a coyote car out there hey, i got some.

Matt:

I posted this in the discord chat on our VGN server. Somebody was saying that legacy is looking good. They said that it's the best it's looked in like the last two years. Bunkers are kind of a disaster right now. They're pretty much hard pan so hopefully they can get that alleviated, you know, in the next 13 days when we have our two day event out there. But promising road ahead for legacy. They are under new management. Part 3 is no longer their management company. It's the same company now that handles Revere. So yeah, i'm excited about this one because legacy is one of my, like, favorite layouts in town. Conditions have always kind of been shoddy, i mean with the water restrictions that are happening to all the courses in town and that place used to be green and lush and it just can't be that anymore. So Revere's done, i think, a really good job maintaining Lexington with, you know, all the new water regulations. They've removed a ton of trees and a ton of bushes that soaked up a lot of water. That's allowed them to use that water on the course versus some, you know, roughage in the parking lot. So if legacy can do that, i mean they've already cut a lot of grass out. I mean, like the number 2 T-box used to be all grass and now it's just squares, and they've done that on some of the other holes, but there's a lot of grass that can be taken out out there and made you know, i don't know if dirt is the best or something, that something they can do, but yeah, i think this time next year we'll be talking about the return of legacy, hopefully and prim yeah, and prim yes, and prim, i tell you, i mean the good parts of the greens at prim was really good. It just sucks that there was so many bad spots but the green that you could play on.

Joe:

I thought it was perfect, it was slow. But yeah, it was slow, but it was grass at least you know. Yeah, i mean that that six hole is just awful and I mean I would like to see them just work on half of it and just make that the tiniest green on the course until the other half comes in yeah, we're in a time where people will mostly pay anything to play golf, because there's a lot of people playing golf and I think obviously there's going to be a resurgence of that like to where people don't play golf as much at some point and they're going to have to show value for their product at some point in the future and those that take care of their courses are going to profit better off of, you know, this influx of golfers. So we'll see what happens, but I think I think prim's going to be great. I think they're going to come back alive at some point. I'm really hoping that that happens. I know Legacy has had a difficult situation with the. They were trying to get rid of the course and build like a hotel on it and you know, and all the people that live in that area were like no, we bought our house because of this and you know they removed a ton of grass. So hopefully, hopefully, we see a spike in the quality of golf soon at some of our different spots.

Matt:

Reflection Bay with the new greens is going to be, yeah, amazing if Prem can come back, if Legacy can come back, we're going to ask you know some good, viable options? finally, yeah, yeah, yeah, chris, you're right. I mean we we played a tournament out there week, two weeks ago or last weekend, and yeah, they're, they're rough, it's, it's in bad shape, but, like I said, the grass that is on the greens is really good. There's just not enough of it yet, but give it time. They got their watershed figured out.

Joe:

So, yeah, i think we I think we chatted about last week, but, for those that don't know, there was an issue with their well and there was a shit ton of salt in it shot off Avalora and he let us know the situation going on out there. But It's fixed and so hopefully, hopefully soon, within the next year, it'll improve.

Matt:

Some no play a couple weeks down for overseas And I know they're gonna do it. But if they can do that, that, that will seriously help. Some cooler weather, mm-hmm. And some no play on on those greens, that will. That will help a lot. Hey, i want to. I owe pebble beach an apology. I said last on last week's show that I didn't like pebble beach as a US Open venue. God, i was very wrong. That place was bad ass. I Don't know what I just get. It's so much pebble beach, pebble.

Joe:

Yeah, we just see it too.

Matt:

We see it much and Wow did it look spectacular for the women's US Open. Yana had bad second day. She kind of struggled out the gaze and then got it back and and was in line to make the cut and then just had a really bad second day. So she did not make the the cut, but congrats to her for that. You know, being there experiencing it kind of get an idea what real pro Level golf is like on that tour. She's gonna be a star at Oregon. Yeah, she'll be there. She'll be there. She swings it way too good not to be. But oh, my goodness, some of the things that they did where they brought in the fairways and made it tight That's. I'm like, can some of the PGA tour courses that are out there right now, where these guys are scoring, you know, 24 under and winning tournaments, could they maybe consider this Hey, let's bring the fairways in 30 feet and give these guys some challenges? I Mean, is it good for TV?

Matt Gontarek:

No, but is it?

Matt:

you know Good to you know, challenge these guys a little bit more and and showcase their skills. And I I mean it's fun to watch them score and I Eric said it last week You know he doesn't watch golf to watch guys struggle. He likes watching, you know, the good shots and the low scores and and I appreciate that. But I want to see the guys challenge.

Joe:

Yeah, i mean for a major, i mean 28 yesterday. Let's find dandy at John Deere, but for you, as open, let's yeah.

Matt:

Yeah he was 11 11 under through 14, just was making everything. Yeah, the squares guys were going nuts.

Joe:

Yeah, yeah, shoot now emails and shit.

Matt:

Adam, don't don't think. I don't understand how shadow greens are a thousand, yet pebble 625, it's, it's Vegas. It's Vegas, it's exclusivity. Anybody can go play pebble, not anybody can go play shadow. I mean, i guess you if you have the money.

Jeremy :

But it's Vegas.

Matt:

You know, do you think it's because?

Jeremy :

that's like the course in Vegas. I mean that's not private. I mean you've got win and win. But I Mean if there was more courses here that were super high-end like that, then maybe shadow wouldn't be a thousand bucks, because I mean you go to pebble. You have several courses over there that are Expensive but competing with Febble Beach in a way. Most people go there probably to play a couple of them at the time, but It just feels like shadows, the sort of the The course here, the yeah, I think it's here, but I think it absolutely is wins moving up there though.

Matt:

Well, and it's this era now where, hey, let's see what we can get. Yeah you know there, let's throw it up to a thousand. See what happens. Holy shit, we're still getting as many people as we were at at 700.

Joe:

Yeah, i, yeah, i don't know. I mean It's tough. I mean like when wins not comparable to shadow in my opinion. I mean it's it's totally a different environment, totally different course, but still it's like it's. It's tough to be a local and a passionate soul golfer, if you will to be like, yeah, that place deserves a thousand dollars of my money. You know, it went three years ago, was 500. It's like what? Obviously there's inflation and everything, but what's inflation? at like 12% maybe. So 12% of that's sick.

Matt:

Golf, it's higher than that.

Joe:

So it's just, it's just. It's rough man and I wish I wish we went, would have went and played it when it was 500 and you could you know. But it's tough man.

Matt:

I mean, you know, right now, you think about it. You're like you know four years ago, five years ago, like I don't want to pay 500 to play shadow.

Joe:

Now I wish it was 500. When you can, when you could, probably you can book a flight to bandin and play. You know you could play three courses that bandin for that amount, you know, and it's Arguably a better experience. I mean, i'm not saying I mean and it. It gives Those people on the higher end that experience, that exclusive experience that they want. But as a as a golfer like I Mean, i've never played shadow, but I've been there and it's like I Would much rather go to bandin dunes or I would 100% much rather go to southern pines or Pine needles, mid pines, because it has like a history there and it's not super fabricated like shadow Creek, it's just I we could buy plane tickets To North Carolina and go play southern pines, mid pines and pine needles.

Matt:

Eat for the price exactly.

Joe:

Room and board food and it's arguably Better golf. It's like a better.

Matt:

It Potentially is a better golf course and shout out Markson the chat on YouTube. He said that exclusivity angle has always been the hook at shadow and that and that's it, i mean totally the clubhouse with all the. You know the presidents and Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods lockers and You know the stories, the Hall of Ground. I mean they have eight people on the course a day. Sometimes. You know it's, it's not your. You're not running into Muni golfers and cut off jeans and tank tops. You know looking for their. You know.

Joe:

Noodle. Yeah, i get. I mean I totally get that, but like we're gonna go play Chambers Bay for 270, like, and Chambers Bay is hosted.

Matt:

Hey, scratch that we. That's a you.

Joe:

We.

Jeremy :

I'm not going by myself. Yeah, I and two others that are not on the broadcast right now.

Joe:

One is in the chat, but I'm just saying like They've hosted a major, like shadow has not hosted a major.

Matt:

No, but it's hosted Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson and Bill Clinton and Michael Jordan, and You know all the it's. There's a reason why they're charging a thousand bucks and because people are gonna pay it.

Joe:

Yep and Vegas has exploded, So of course they can get it and that's gonna happen.

Matt:

I thought it was hilarious. When I was in Alabama a couple weeks ago, i was looking at some of the courses on Google Maps and I like reading the reviews and And this one course was the review was this is totally not worth it. They had sanded the greens. They didn't tell me. I couldn't believe I paid $30 to play this. Please give me a $30 course to go play right now. I'll take it, let's go. Hey, what was what's desert willow? on that Sunday time you were looking at Jeremy 44 bucks that's not bad. That's not bad executive course. It's not terrible.

Jeremy :

All the dirty you get dirty. Looks included from here, from the HOA. Yep, yeah You did you see the.

Joe:

Did you see the comment from mark where he said that when it first opened it You need a golden grave invitation with? is that true?

Matt:

I've never heard that, so we'll have to. We'll have to look into that and see if that is true.

Joe:

I mean, I wouldn't doubt it at all. No, i wouldn't doubt it, but I'm, i'm not. I don't know that for sure, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Matt:

I can totally see Steve when doing that.

Jeremy :

Do you think the shadow I mean I know we had the CJ cup there a couple years ago and, of course, think of hope. Do you think it's PGA tour caliber to have a regular event there?

Matt:

No, or do you think they don't want to know? No, i mean the co-crack shot 20 under in the CJ cup, but yeah they make it any more difficult than it was I mean I Mean they can make a rough out and they grow the rough out a little bit and the greens, you know, maybe at a 13, 14 would be something, but I mean it's, i don't know. I, james fights, who Played at UNLV and played out there a lot, said the tour guys would just absolutely destroy that place. It's, it's not a challenge to them, it's just the, the holes aren't long enough, it's too forgiving off the tee and and it's it's only. You know, the safety net is is fast greens. Yeah, firm, fast greens, and that you saw that at Bank of Hope. I mean those Tough to hold a green out there, hmm, but I I don't know. I would love to see him go back to southern Highlands. Yeah, that would be a good challenge because they can really stretch that one out and And.

Joe:

I still would like to see them go to Coyote Springs, oh.

Matt:

God, that would be amazing.

Joe:

I Think Coyote Springs would be the best test for them out here, like Cascada would be pretty good too with their greens out there. But there's no way. You're gonna get, you're gonna. You're not gonna be able to get any kind of footage out there Or any kind of spiky issue 30 under at Cascada Oh yeah, they yeah, like that I'm too. It's not super long, but I mean, i think Coyote would be it as far as courses in Vegas, i think Coyote would be their toughest test if they, if Coyote, could make their greens, you know, like firm and quick, and I think that it would be so cool to see them play that place, the Wolf course, and in a wind.

Matt:

In a wind, yeah, in a wind, you know, if it's calm, that would be You know, no good whatsoever. But Adam chiming in with TPC Sawgrass 650 closes green feed. A shadow key was 600 whistling straights 555.

Jeremy :

Yeah, it's it's not what I mean 550. Oh.

Matt:

There's another one.

Joe:

Wow, I think they, i mean everywhere, i mean soon to be black deserts gonna be 550. Oh yeah, after next year?

Matt:

Yeah, if black desert can get an event, coyote Springs can get an event. Yeah, you know just, we'll pack that trailer full of people.

Jeremy :

They didn't have to like get all the party buses that are in Vegas and shuttle the players out there every day.

Matt:

Yeah, they're gonna stay at the Moapa reservation. We've set up a tent city for you guys shooting off fireworks Blackjack tables. It looks like EDC.

Joe:

Higadilly pizza to go From the love station it would be a layer.

Matt:

We have zero of the top 125 in the world rankings are attending this week's event. Oh Goodness, yeah. How much is the US Open? did you guys watch?

Jeremy :

I watched a lot.

Matt:

Yeah, I.

Joe:

I watch hardly any amount on Sunday tons of us open beds in the house.

Matt:

Shadow Creek most expensive course in the country.

Joe:

What's that?

Matt:

beds. We're gonna have him on the show either the next week or the week after, because Travis Matthew is finally releasing their shoes soon, because Quater's going bye-bye, and So we're gonna have beds on. And I told him, i said we'll give you a whole hour to just talk some TM. There's some exciting stuff coming from them, head-to-toe, maybe head-to-toe, and They'll finally, he said to me today, they'll finally know that, pete, that Travis Matthews sell shoes. The Quater shoes are good, they're good Crickets. I love, i love their clothes.

Jeremy :

And now Joey started to buy their clothes and I got Zane a cloud hoodie. It's like it's like our favorite store to go to. It's like it's like our favorite store to go to beds.

Matt:

I will tell you, you did get a little bashing today, though on the pockets. Jeremy lost his ball marker out at. Black Desert and it was 100% because of the pockets.

Joe:

Yeah, we, we did bash the pockets a little bit out of our, not not?

Matt:

like, not like. Taylor bashed you on the glove after the the event.

Jeremy :

No, don't love the shorts. I just I probably just didn't tuck the coin in there far enough, but it disappeared.

Matt:

Yeah, and nobody turned it in some Scott. Well, you know what I bet you? it fell out when you took a spill, or was it when I?

Jeremy :

fell out of the lava? Yeah, for sure. No it was like between the first screen and second. T is when I lost it.

Matt:

Oh, too funny, too funny. All right, so the pain?

Jeremy :

actually not. Let's not end that conversation. I fell out of the lava. I'm still feeling the pain from that because my I had like lava embedded into my palm and It finally came out today, which is nice, so that's gone. No, I still have like residual wrist pain from when I landed and then shame from when Dan saw me Laying on the ground. So I think he'll remember that for the rest of his life, like coral is that one of the reasons you haven't played lately?

Matt:

I know you said Tending a wrist injury.

Jeremy :

Yeah, it was that. I was just too ashamed to say it was from when I took a fall. But yeah, it's feeling better. I actually went practice the other day. It's good, it's back 100% nice nice.

Matt:

I I got some some Changes coming to the bag, not like overhaul equipment. The new US team of me, a dart V's, the wedge shafts are finally here, so I have three of those coming. I I Took out a wedge. I had four wedges in the bag. I took out a wedge, so now I'm playing 50, 55, 60. It really helps me at Prim and at National the day after. You know just, it was a lot easier for me to decide what club to hit on, shots and not. You know, i'm between you know this four gap of four degrees gap, you know, it kind of simplified things for me. So I have three of those shafts coming and then also a four iron shaft, because since I pulled the wedge, i was able to add a club and I got a new, a new new level four iron head coming. So That is what's new for me. And also the BGT shaft through you guys seen on Instagram That is in the tailor-made putter now and, my goodness, that's a hell of a combo.

Joe:

So what is the new BGT shaft, new putter shaft.

Matt:

It's not new, it's just a new one, the one I have in there. It's probably about a half inch too short And the grip is yeah it's like one of the original Garcin grips. It's old and it's beat up And I don't want to put a new one on that because the short. So Eric was talking with Blair and, yeah, he's grabbed me one, so I'll have the all black tour on that here soon, hopefully before legacy. Nice Dancers, i remember the look on your face was priceless. Yeah, oh, i'm loving it, man. Thanks everybody for being on YouTube with us. This is, this is cool. We've wanted for a long time to have some interaction with everybody, so it's nice that you all are on there. Let's. I'm sure you guys are loving the heat. It's warm, it's hot. It's going to be balls hot this week and this weekend, and let's have Maddie Geethe tell us a little bit about it.

Matt Gontarek:

What's up guys? Mac on talk with the chasing daylight podcast. Hope everybody had a great weekend and for the upcoming week we're looking at temperatures getting really warm. For Southern Nevada, talk about it. It's been a warm July so far, but temperatures this upcoming weekend for Saturday and Sunday will be right around 1.15. So things are getting pretty toasty for us and likely we're seeing an excessive heat warning for Saturday and Sunday, mainly in the afternoon, with temperatures 1.15 to 1.20. So the summer heat is on. If you're going to be golfing into the afternoon, make sure to hydrate, give yourself some breaks throughout the day, but not the best golfing forecast Heading into this upcoming weekend, with the heat again getting closer to 1.10 to 1.15, heading into Saturday and Sunday.

Joe:

Woo, that's toasty. I can't wait. I can't wait to be up in Washington and just trees and like 80 degree weather.

Matt:

I mean it's awesome when we went to Solstice. You know it's right in the the third week of June.

Joe:

Yeah, you get a little break.

Matt:

Get a little break from the heat. You know it's full time AC all the time. Yeah, I can't wait. What's your, what's your run when you leave and what's your run down? Were you guys playing? What's what's the? what's the trip all about?

Joe:

So we leave July 28th. I think. We arrive at like 930 in the morning, bob is right behind me and Dan at like 1015. And then I think our tea time at Chambers Bay is like 330, something like that. So we might go. I would love to go hit that Museum of pop culture or the fish market or something like that, to go do that beforehand. But and then Saturday we were playing Gold Mountain, we were going to do 36 there, which we still have, i believe, and we were recommended to not play one of the courses there and hit up Wild Horse or White Horse. So I believe Dan has a alarm set to book there which is 14 days before you can book 14 days out. So we're going to try and hit Gold Mountain and then White Horse, and then on Sunday we're going to hit Salish Cliffs And then we are coming home. It's it's a quick one, but it's going to be a nice little break from the heat for sure.

Matt:

Heck yeah.

Joe:

And supposedly the onion rings at Gold Mountain are absolutely incredible, according to Trey. So we will be eating onion rings.

Matt:

Yeah, there's a whole bunch of Vegas going to Washington, going on. Trey and Julian are headed up up there for Yeah, they're leaving Saturday Yeah.

Joe:

Yeah, Adam ask if I scooped to Mackenzie. I did not, but I scooped up the Penfold, which is similar to the Mackenzie, and it gets here Friday. So nice You taking that with you. I plan on it. Yes, I do plan on it. Shot out Penfold Golf for sending me a little discount code. So definitely more Of an economical choice than a Mackenzie, because Mackenzie's are very expensive. But, yeah, i'm going to give it a shot. I'm going to throw it on a cart, probably when we play Sunday and see how it. see how it does on the cart, because Chambers Bay is blocking only. So I'm planning on bringing that up there and Dan is scoping out some sort of walkable golf bag to, because he had a six bought at 50 cents and won 800 bucks last night. So hopefully, hopefully, we see a new custom Dan Hodges Mackenzie bag.

Jeremy :

So I think Raiders logo on it. I think you need to work on some like six weeks waiting time though.

Matt:

Soft insoles for your feet so you don't get hurt walking.

Joe:

Yeah, or some, yeah, some some art support might be. Might be good too.

Matt:

Oh, all right. So Seb Strakka just tore up the John Deere Went nuts. like I said, 1100 through 14 had a 58, you know, 57 potentially if you would have kept up the hot streak And then, much like most of us, have all experienced the round of your life with a double on 18. I mean, if that wasn't the golf gods live for the world to see My goodness.

Joe:

Yeah, i mean that shot. I mean I listened to his interview afterwards and he said, like the wind was off the right, you know, i just he wasn't super like bad on himself about that, but it just took it in the water. I mean I was, i was watching and it would have been great to see him just pull it off. He's he's still in a winning, which is great, but I mean he could have done something really cool. Yeah, but he fucking slung that thing like straight in the water.

Matt:

Well, that was what Brennan Todd, you know. He out of it because he'd have to hold it out, and you know. So do you take a chance and it goes in the water and you drop the third, or do you, you know, just push it out to the right and make your par and take home a nice paycheck? It was like how much do you think that is going on in those in those guys' heads? You know I've got a shot here, that you know my in my soul. I want to hold this because I want to win. I mean, is that where your caddy? Is that where your mind? Do you have to go? Hey, let's do the smart thing here. Let's not drop out of the top five with a double Even. Who was the, the kid playing with Brennan Todd? Who?

Joe:

was it.

Matt:

Smalley. Oh yeah, alex Smalley.

Joe:

I mean his approach on the.

Matt:

I mean his approach on 18,. he had a perfect shot and he hit it out soft to the right, Didn't I mean?

Joe:

Yeah.

Matt:

I don't know That's, that's what.

Joe:

I don't know. I loved when a ballonis asked Strakka like was the 59, even in playing your head, And he said, no, I just want to win the tournament. I loved that.

Matt:

I mean because obviously, Well, yeah, because he didn't get it, but if he shot 59, he would have loved it, of course. Yeah, different.

Joe:

Yeah, i mean, of course, But I mean he, i think, i think Seps Strakka, where he's at, like I think it was more important for him to win the golf tournament than shoot a 59. Like, of course, if you would have asked like Rory or something like that, like Rory might say, a 59 would have been cool, cooler than winning, because he's one more. Seps Strakka only has one at the Honda Classic. I mean, strakka Wanted to win the golf tournament, which he ended up obviously winning.

Matt:

But I mean two year exemption. You're in the Masters, yeah, And he won, like almost exactly a year ago. I mean close to it A little longer.

Joe:

Yeah, a little longer than that, but close to it. I mean, seps Strakka is a great player, like I've picked him a bunch of times, as we all know that. Really, i pick up the commerce.

Matt:

Oh yeah.

Joe:

Min Woo Lee is trending And I've picked him a couple of times, but I think he did He. I mean he put on it. He put on a show on Sunday which was awesome to see, and I would have loved to see him get that 59 or that 58 or 57, but he didn't get it And I think he handled it like a champ. I mean he still ended up winning, which is probably what he wanted, more than the 59. I mean totally. You know, Fifteen nine is not going to guarantee you on a Sunday, Maybe if you're chasing down the lead. It's not going to get two million dollars or whatever. So All right.

Matt:

So the the one and done. I held up my end of the week. You guys did not Thank you for that. Joe, joe, that was bad. Joe took Rio in the one done and the weekly, but so did Cal, so that helped. But Dan had McCarthy, so my Ludwig A Baderick pick won the week, not only in the one and done, but also in our picks. This week it's the sky to open only For the one and done. Jeremy, you already made your pick.

Jeremy :

I saw you go with. I went with Bleatwood.

Matt:

Oh nice, Yeah, that's. That's going to be my open pick. I'm saving him for that one. Joe, you know who you're taking.

Joe:

I do not Scottish open only huh.

Matt:

Yeah, so I God I was looking at it, so I think I'm going to go for the one and done. No, i already picked my guy. Who did I take? Oh, i took Kitty Yama. That's who in the one and done I still had He didn't lose in a playoff last year. He plays well in Europe. Yeah he does Has ever since he turned pro. So that was, you know, 25. I think he is in the world ranking. This is like a super elevated event or super designated. That's not a designated elevated event, because there it's a stacked field.

Joe:

Shaffer, looking right now Can't be a lot.

Matt:

Shaffley, hatton, hovland, fowler, fleetwood, spieth, wynnum, clark, patrick, Lowry, minwoo, max, homer, ludwig A-Baird, harry Hall's playing Adam.

Joe:

Scott just rose odds real quick.

Matt:

Yeah, fire away.

Joe:

Shaffler, plus a seven and a half to one. Rory eight to one. Patrick Kentley, xander Shawley 14 to one. Ricky Fowler 16 to one. Victor Hovland, terrell Hatton 18 to one. Tommy Fleetwood Mephits, patrick Jordan speed 22 to one. Max Homer Shane Lowry 30 to one. Justin Rose 35 to one, along with Justin Thomas, ann Minmoo, lee Ann Wyndham Clark, sung Jae 40 to one. Tom Kim, sam Burns, ludwig A-Baird 45 to one. Adam Scott, corey Connors 50 to one. Kirk Kiddiyama 85 to one. Shamest Power is 100 to one. Biang Han-An 125 to one. Patrick Rogers 175 to one. Gary Kegel 200 to one, all the way at the bottom, 401, sam Ryder and Charlie Hoffman.

Matt:

That's a stacked field. It's pretty deep And it's nice because it'll be, you know, prime time, you know midnight, turn on the TV. Four in the morning, golf, you know, finishing up the rounds. It's fun watching those events over there, do you know you're going to take.

Jeremy :

I'm sick.

Matt:

Oh, it's so good, Joe. You have an idea who you're going to take for the one done.

Joe:

I have to. I don't know who I have left, so All right.

Matt:

So let's do, we're going to pick. We're going to pick for our contest. We have two this week, so we're going to do the Barbasol and the Scottish, because we've got multiples next two weeks. We got because of the open And what's the Very good, what's the? The one that follows up the opposite field. The barracuda, that's right. Barbasol, Barbasol and barracuda. Hey, anybody that's still listening on YouTube. If you make a pick for the first person who makes a pick, we'll we'll take that pick. If one of ours doesn't make the cut, Do like a YouTube guest pick. So it's not one of the week for the barb. Oh, you want to do the Barbasol odds, Joe?

Joe:

I can Let me see Barbasol Championship Taylor Pendra 16 to one, vincent Norman 18 to one And Lucas Glover 22 to one, kevin Shreuman 28 to one, act shea 28 to one, chad Ramey 40 to one And yeah, there's nobody here.

Matt Gontarek:

Well, not 50 to one.

Joe:

Kevin Tway 60 to one.

Matt Gontarek:

Can I be a 60 to one?

Joe:

Doc Redmond 80 to one.

Matt:

And you get bonus points too.

Joe:

Jazz John. I want a ton and a ton.

Matt:

John, I want a ton.

Jeremy :

Yeah, you absolutely nailed that name, joe Jazz.

Joe:

John, I want a ton and a ton.

Matt:

Did you see the? the, the reel that I made with with Eric where he was, where we were going over the European team?

Matt Gontarek:

And I fixed.

Matt:

I fixed all the spellings except for one of them, because it just how it auto spelled. It was hilarious. Ok, so I answered.

Joe:

Harry Hall. I don't see Harry Hall in the field.

Matt:

He's playing the Scottish.

Joe:

OK, all right, so he's our backup pick. Ok, let me see what his odds are.

Matt:

He's going.

Joe:

Eric Cole 100 to one. I don't see, I don't see him.

Matt:

Oh, he said that he's set it on Instagram.

Joe:

Yeah, 300 to one. OK, it's worth five dollars.

Matt:

Oh yeah, ok. so from my pick for the barbassol, the shaving cream open, i'm going to go with Grayson Murray.

Jeremy :

Playing well.

Matt:

Oh, look at that And it's not going to you. Piece of punk crap, stupid software crap. He's the punk crap. Let's try this again, do it live. Well, do it live. Oh, it ain't working. Who was the, the magical cash register while I was gone? Was that Eric? That would be Eric.

Jeremy :

Damn it, Damn it.

Matt:

Eric, where are you Right? One like There we go. Grayson Murray, what's his odds, joe?

Joe:

Make it work. Thirty five to one.

Matt:

We have the bonus. All right, Jeremy, you are second.

Jeremy :

Barbassol, we take it, lucas Glover.

Joe:

Hey 22 to one. I am going to go. Kevin Shrillman, twenty eight to one Eight to one.

Matt:

Right That English So I can All right. So for the Scottish, i think I really wanted to take Ricky because I know he loves playing over there and he plays well, and kind of nasty weather. I think he's still rolling on that high after the W, but I think I'm going to stick with the kitty on the.

Jeremy :

I am also going to stick with my one ad on to go Fleetwood.

Matt:

Nice, joe, you're behind on the odds and your pick. You're on mute to.

Joe:

Thirty to one Who Shane Lauer, that's your pick. Yep, i just watched like some sort of champions thing on golf channels, so he's fresh in my mind.

Matt:

What was Fleetwood's?

Joe:

odds. Fleetwood is. That's what I was looking for, so these twenty two to one. Yeah, twenty two to one for Fleetwood. And you picked Kitty. Yama. I couldn't find him, that's for.

Matt:

Oh, wow.

Jeremy :

I think he's twenty two to one, isn't he?

Matt:

Oh, he's there ahead of Patrick Rogers.

Joe:

And she and Maury's 30 to one.

Matt:

Well, he'd be a lot lower than that according to data golf, Maybe Yama. Hello, Justin Thomas, Adrian Moronk would be a close, shameless power. Maybe five to one for Kitty Yama. There we go. Look at that double bonus week for Matt Big time. There's no double bonuses, double bonuses, man, yeah, all right. So I got Paiute tomorrow playing with the West Bros. Apparently, nobody can play golf on the Tuesday morning except for the three of us, because nobody has been able to accept the invite that we have thrown out to pretty much everybody.

Joe:

So multiple times.

Matt:

Yeah, yeah, multiple times. Hey, like I said, shit changes. You know work schedules change, baby showers get canceled, you know stuff happens.

Joe:

So if my sales manager, Fernando, was not off this week, I would be there.

Matt:

OK.

Joe:

Yeah you.

Matt:

so golf will be there in spirit Channel some, some Indian.

Joe:

Yeah, do some sort of seance on the first day In honor of Joe you grab some sage.

Matt:

So you guys, are you guys going to do painted desert this weekend? Are you doing Willow? you're going to do.

Joe:

I'll call it painted desert in the morning. The whole prepaid shit. I just hate prepaid shit. But I'll give him a call in the morning. I obviously we I think most of us would prefer to play a full course. I mean, i love desert willow, yeah, but if it's my only round of the weekend I'd prefer some more. I get a driver occasionally.

Jeremy :

Yeah, i'm good with that. The only reason I chose desert is because I was there practicing Sunday yesterday and I was yeah man, this place looks really good right now. Dude, it looks so good, They could do some grass though They have so much grass they could get rid of, and still, you know it's surprising how much grass is on that place and how green most of that grass is.

Joe:

Yeah, they keep it in great shape. We're going to be 20 years, we're going to be a member when there was green grass in Vegas.

Matt:

Yeah, yeah.

Joe:

Just plain and we're going to probably be saying member when we play full courses.

Matt:

Yeah, remember when member, when indoor golf was a fad.

Matt Gontarek:

Now, that's all there is.

Matt:

Yeah, yeah, too funny, too funny. Um, the I chatted on the phone with the guys at the golf stop. That's a new place that is opening up in.

Joe:

Henderson Yeah.

Matt:

On St Rose, across from Costco, behind McDonald's. They're going to have four trackman bays. It's going to be a 24 hour facility If you sign up 24 hours, wow Yeah. If you sign up for a membership, then you will have key code access as long as there's space. You know, some days the the Sim is open. They're going to have a bar in there, local beers on tap and and it's more. It's not really an entertaining place, it's more of a practice and chill kind of place. You know, five iron and and chip shots have got the entertainment thing kind of dialed in and then you got top golf and then, adam, atomic golf is coming and pop shot, pop stroke is coming. So this is I. I liken it to Robo golf kind of, but with more More of a laid back. I think type environment entertainment value to it more than Robo golf. Yes, yes, yeah, i mean definitely, you can, you know, get some get some of your friends and go hang out for a while and and play some Sim golf or practice or kick back and have drinks and, you know, watch some sports. I'm sure they'll have some TVs, but I'm going to have those two on the show, maybe the end of this week, maybe next week I'm going to have them come on. They're Predicting July 29th, saturday, as their soft opening. It's not locked in stone yet, so don't show up there if you haven't heard that is actual date, but hopefully we'll have that confirmed on that interview. So look forward to that. Beds will be coming up soon. Do what else we got going on. We've got a VGN event, a two day event out at Legacy, coming up. Yeah, anything else you guys want to chat about? Yeah, chambers Bay coming up. Yeah, we talked about that, joe, we got the strength the strands thing coming up centrally.

Joe:

We have Dan still listening. Hopefully we can do that. Go ahead.

Matt Gontarek:

Jeremy, we got Where is it, it is, it is.

Matt:

It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a. Where is?

Joe:

it.

Matt:

It is 391 days to abandon.

Joe:

Yeah, we're closing in. We're very close and I can't wait, we're 13 months away.

Jeremy :

I have a rant. I have a little bit of a rant.

Matt:

Oh, oh, I like France.

Jeremy :

And it's a topic we've sort of been talking about. Rose Zang. So let's talk about that. Let's talk about one thing. That really pisses me off is reading news articles by sports writers that aren't specifically golf writers or people you've never heard. Pissed Dude. it's so annoying. Fire it up. Saying that Rose Zang is she's like falling short and she's got to win majors like soon if she wants to still be considered the Tiger Woods women's golf. Like dude. She literally won her first event. She's played what Three events. She won the first one and she played her first major, i mean as a pro Top 10. Dude, it just like What the hell? What, what do people How?

Matt:

What do people have to do to?

Jeremy :

meet expectations. It's insane. And the putting thing like her putter is not working and all this stuff, like the news articles and the golf channel and stuff, it's like what? No, i'm actually a little pissed off right now because sometimes.

Matt:

This is why I'm subscribed.

Jeremy :

I'm not subscribed from. I was a golf digest subscriber. I love, i loved reading their magazines and stuff And then one time they pissed me off and I sent all my magazines back to their corporate office.

Matt:

Oh, i love that.

Jeremy :

I'm like I am never reading another article from you guys because it was like I think it was a Bubba Watson degrading Ted Scott thing. They post it on Instagram and it's like they just blew it so far out of proportion. It just was like, well, ok, i'm done. This is sort of like one of those Like if you're not, i've never heard of these like on Yahoo News, for some reason that's where I get. You know, i pull up news and just get headlines and stuff And this, this, these articles you read about golf just pissed me off because you've never heard of the guys that are writing them. They're not big golf channel, whatever golf magazine digest writers. They just it's just opinion pieces, it's not. There's no news. So the thing about Roseanne when you brought that up, it was like what do people expect? I mean, the expectations for players is so insanely elevated that it's funny.

Matt:

And you know how, how short the careers are of the LPGA players. It's. I mean, you look at, like Yanni saying she was like the most dominant player in the history of women's golf and gone, you know. and like Paula Kramer, gone. Natalie Gobi is gone, michelle, we gone. I mean all these big name players that they've had for you know, they, their careers, they. just I and I don't know what it is, i don't know if it's like the money's not worth this, so screw it, you know, because it's they don't make shit, Absolutely nothing. I mean they said there was a four million purse for the US Open. And then like the next week's purse for this next event was like 800,000. Yeah, yeah, it's like wow.

Joe:

I think. I think the thing is is like everybody lives in the shadow of Annika and Tiger. Right, you, you get these expectations and it's like You're coming up, you're expected to be the next Annika or the next Tiger Woods And if you don't deliver in the first couple of events, like we're going to shame you and your fuck. Like yeah, yeah It, like Matt said in the text the other day, it's like you won your first event, your top 10 in a major, in your first three events. Like anybody in their entire career would probably accept that.

Matt:

And then be happy.

Joe:

Yeah, yeah, it's just it's expectations that are delivered because of the predecessors that have come before you. You know you're expected to be a game changer and every, everybody wants to see the next Tiger, everyone wants to see the next Annika, and it's not. It's it's like once in a generation player or I don't know. I don't know about generation, but Tiger might be once in generation player, i mean, who knows? But you're expected to be that when you're up and coming and you get so hyped up like But golf is fucking hard, like it's not, it's not that easy. Like Tiger dominated the US Open and Pebble by was it 14? Four, 15 strokes right. Yeah, 15. Nobody's going to do that ever again. No, i do. That's never going to happen again, maybe Seps Traca. Maybe Seps Traca if he doesn't flay a little into the water on 18 at Pebble Beach. But that's not, that's 15 strokes is never going to happen again. I will, i will stand firmly by that, like that's not going to happen in the days of Trackman and GC Quad and it's in technology and golf clubs. That's not going to happen ever again.

Matt:

Yeah, i can pretty much guarantee. If I were to ask Dana fall hey, would you be happy right now if you ended your career with one win and a top 10 in a major? So they say, yeah, yeah, i mean, think about it. If we met, let's say we're out on the golf course and some guy comes play with us and he's like, oh, i used to play on tour, oh, yeah, pj Tour, yeah, pj Tour. Oh well, how'd you do? I had one win and a top 10 in a major. I'd be like, damn that's pretty sick Yeah. And she's done that in three events. Yeah, yeah.

Joe:

The golf golf term is are fucking hard to win.

Matt:

They're so hard.

Joe:

I mean, you have Unless you're Doug Schrader or Victor Sanchez, mike.

Jeremy :

Tyson.

Matt:

Dan Hodges, bob West. There are a dime, a dozen.

Joe:

But on that level it's, they're all so elite It's. Oh, I like that one That's not playing that one unfortunately, the rebel colorways.

Matt Gontarek:

I mean in.

Joe:

San Diego. But yeah, on that elite level, everybody's shower, everybody is elite, so it's, it's not fucking easy to win that shit.

Matt:

Yeah, how many how many golfers in the world, according to Jen A ton, and there's 250 that are the best in the world. You know, yeah, yeah, it's nuts How many guys are driving race cars, but there's 20 that race formula one. You know it's it's not easy.

Jeremy :

Yeah, and I think about those tournaments like you're literally one shot away from, or one or two shots away from, winning the tournament. It was one putt you left out, it was one penalty stroke or whatever it is.

Matt:

It's like one T shot, you pushed right on 16. Yeah, prim.

Jeremy :

Yeah, the gap is so small. It's, it's, it's incredible.

Joe:

And another thing. I was thinking about this while I was driving the other day. It's like I don't know everything that's going on in everyone's life. You know, like you don't know everything that's going on in these players' lives. Like you know, we're all close friends. I don't know everything that's going on in your life.

Matt:

You know, I tell you guys everything, Yeah, but I'm saying like I don't know what you had for dinner.

Joe:

I don't know, if it upset your stomach or if it you don't. We don't know everything about other people. So there's there's so many factors and so many variables in certain situations And it's like give the girl some slack, man, like she's playing. Well, she'll probably be here for a very long time And and she still has a lot of hard Yeah it's fucking hard, man. I'm like I don't know if you ate a bean and cheese burrito last night and it's fucking up your stomach. I mean, you probably know that I ate a bean cheese last night.

Matt:

Everybody knows that.

Joe:

Which my stomach has adapted to it.

Matt:

So the million dollar question It did anybody watch any live golf?

Jeremy :

Did.

Matt:

I didn't see a single thing about it.

Jeremy :

Hair. I watched a hair.

Matt:

I didn't watch a second of it. Yeah, I saw I was fucking around and, on the bottom line, that that's it. Well, what did what happened between Brooks and Matt Wolf?

Joe:

Oh yeah, Yeah, So Brooks said he's over him and he's like he doesn't put in the work and he's like not, and Matt Wolf was offended or whatever, And crybaby, I don't know. Kind of sad to see. Is the team leader though? like It's in that situation If you're really down for the cause. If you're down for the cause, though, like Pull him aside and be like yo just set your shit straight, Kind of situation. But yeah, that was interesting. I totally forgot that happened over the past weekend.

Matt:

Yeah, i just heard that you know Matt Wolf responds to Brooks Kepka And I was like, oh, what happened? And then I'm like I don't want to go down that rabbit hole right now.

Joe:

Yeah, basically Brooks said like he's, i feel, like he's given up, like he's not repairable kind of situation. And then Matt Wolf was like it's hard to hear that from your team leader, you should be a captain or whatever, and That, just that. Just lets you know Brooks doesn't really give a fuck about live.

Matt:

No, he don't, Yeah, so Hey, was this enough to get me kicked off? Yeah, yeah, there's these actions detrimental to my team And should I be expunged from live Brooks cares about money.

Jeremy :

Hey, Jay.

Joe:

Jay Yeah.

Matt:

Oh, too funny.

Joe:

Jay is coming back though, mm. hmm, he's. he survived whatever the fuck happened to him.

Jeremy :

The assassination attempt. Yeah From Greg.

Matt:

From Greg Yeah.

Joe:

By Sharkbite.

Matt:

Oh, he's oh goodness. Anybody heard anything from Norman as to he.

Joe:

I haven't seen anything. No, I have not.

Matt:

All right, so let's, let's do a social media rant, joe.

Joe:

Got.

Matt:

What's your thoughts on threads?

Joe:

Um. They're not doing all our data. They're collecting my heartbeat, my blood glucose level. No, uh, you know it's first off hold on.

Jeremy :

So what exactly? I don't have? I didn't do it. I've seen it a couple of times. What is it separate from Instagram Like? it's a completely other like social network.

Matt:

It's a completely other social network. Yeah Yeah, Instagram Twitter.

Jeremy :

It's Twitter.

Matt:

It's like. it's like Twitter, i guess, i don't know.

Matt Gontarek:

I thought.

Matt:

I thought, uh, tyler, must they bait? and fairway said it great, hey, threads, when your algorithm going to start algorithming, cause there's so much just garbage on? you know, i opened it up and and I like the people I follow, that's what I want to see. You know, that's the content that I want to see And you know Twitter does a really good job of doing that and then mixing in Hey, you like this person, they like a lot of this. So we're going to show you some of those feeds and let us know if you like it. And threads is just like in your face, is like so much just trash And I don't get it. And then Hello from historic West side Yeah, Fernando and the building. Oh, that's your boss, that's fine, yeah, no not my boss The fuck.

Joe:

He's a sales manager. We're we're, we're somewhat equals, but I am technically as boss, but he plays out in Las Vegas golf club, granted.

Matt:

Shalak is on here, cliffy.

Joe:

Yes, I'm at.

Matt:

Welcome, sir Up in Seattle.

Joe:

I will say on threads it feels like the same as Instagram It's. it's almost pointless because you can get the same shit there. I didn't understand it.

Matt:

I thought it was going to be like engagement and conversations And it's just people posting the same things on Instagram, just in a.

Joe:

It's new though, so I figured might as well just jump on, and then you know, if there's a wave starting, might as well be the first to jump on the wave to serve. I don't know.

Matt:

So I don't like the fact that you can't switch between accounts, because I thought they should have built it into the app. Yep, i thought it a good good way to promote the podcast, but can't do that yet.

Joe:

I'm not. We'll see, we'll see.

Matt:

Logging in and no.

Joe:

Well, they know your heart rate and your blood pressure.

Jeremy :

So that's BMI, not a single anymore.

Joe:

Yeah, your BMI is safe with meta. You did have carbs in that.

Matt Gontarek:

Oh yeah.

Jeremy :

That's. That's funny because, like that's the big complaint that I've seen. I have never been on it, but everyone's like freaking out about the privacy concerns. It's like dude. Every single social media network is the same Like it's not. This is not revolutionary.

Joe:

Yeah, it's the same thing when they start out. I saw a hardened brook. He mentioned Sagar down. I saw him say, like you know when, when you're able to turn it off, like, give the power to the consumer. I mean, we've all signed our life away to everything. Like there's no power, It's all we're done. Like yeah, And unless you don't have a phone like it's great There's no ads.

Matt:

Well, there's 70 million people on it.

Joe:

Just wait, yeah Well, the ads are coming. The ads are coming, sure.

Matt:

And it's going to be nonstop, and it's. You're going to get the blue check mark The blue.

Jeremy :

What is it going to be like a different colored check mark on threads?

Matt:

No, it's still blue Still blue Yeah. They just take all your Instagram data and throw it on threads and, hey, i thought it'd been great if there's like no pictures. So there's still pictures, let's. Let's just have threads. No, there is pictures. No, there is No, there is No. I thought it was literally like your Instagram.

Joe:

Yes, yeah, it's the same thing, basically, that's. I mean, i'm just, i'm just trying to be a little active on it, just in case it blows up. Yeah, same here.

Matt:

You know, you know.

Joe:

I get to drink a few beers, i'll say like hey, here's a picture from 40 months ago, i saw this, i saw this, but this person You like it.

Matt:

This person popped up on something and I'm like who's the fuck?

Matt Gontarek:

is that.

Matt:

And I look and they had 40 million followers on Instagram And I'm like I have no idea who this person is.

Joe:

Yeah.

Matt:

And he like joined and he's like awesome 20,000, awesome 50,000, awesome 100,000 is like I. why are you on? I don't want anything to do with you. Why am I looking at you? So? all right, that's my social media rant.

Joe:

Yeah, here's. The thing is is no matter how many people follow you. It doesn't matter How many of them follow you, it's. It's all about the engagement you engage with your, your friends of like mindedness and you. You've messaged them back and you like their comments and you. That's. That was my whole thing since starting hitting greens.

Matt:

It's like I don't want.

Joe:

I don't want anybody to know in my previous life I mean, i still live my same life, but you know I was a big sneaker, head of a big like hip hop guy. You know I didn't. I didn't tell anybody Yeah, i didn't tell anybody that I started a golf Instagram other than Mike Bushino, you know, who started hitting greens with me. I just I didn't even tell him that I started it And I just I wanted to create it organically for people that wanted to see what I was posting, and I feel like I have like 1150 followers now. That was grown organically. I think it means more than 30,000 people. That was not grown organically. You know, like and not engaging. I. I interact with the people that message me. I interact with the people that like my stuff. I interact with people that comment, and I think that's what it's all about.

Matt:

It's like, yeah, i thought really good, i want to go nice. Really good, let's get a tea time.

Joe:

Yeah, yeah, i forged great relationships with you from Instagram and you know Cyrus and golf homie, and I mean everyone. Everyone that I know in golf is probably be. It is because of Instagram and because I grew it organically, and that's who that I mean. I probably wouldn't know you guys with that Instagram, so I didn't pay anybody to get me followers, i didn't promote my shit, i didn't, you know, and that's what. That's. What's great about. It is like I know the people that I interact with are people that want to interact with me, and people I interact with are people I want to interact with.

Matt:

So yeah, that's one of the main reasons I switched up and have the my so-called guy call five page now, because exactly what you're talking about. I want to put content out there And if you like it, great. If you don't, OK, don't follow me. If you want to.

Joe:

I still feel like I'm tagging some guy I've never met.

Matt:

Well, Eric likes to tag me on my my private account you know that nobody follows it, because I don't want anybody following me on that one, because that's for like friends and close friends and family. But I see it, i see it sometimes and I'm like who the fuck is that? Oh, that's me.

Joe:

I'm like, is this the MTV show or something?

Matt:

Social media can be fun. So look at that. Hey, big shout out to everybody that hung out on YouTube tonight. Thank you so much. These videos will be up on the page. I do a little bit of editing on them, you know. So, like all the content that's discussed on here will be up on there, kind of like on the regular episodes. We're going to continue to do it. Everybody likes it. It's a. You know, youtube is an amazing way. I mean, we've had more interactions, comments on this and I think we ever have as far as from a variety of people. So, thanks to you, to all those that hopped on and hung out with us tonight. It's going to be a hot one in Vegas. So you know, check your ACs, your AC units, get some maintenance if you need to. Joe:

I just put in his resume for to work at the shelter animal shelter. So if you know anyone out there, he's. He's looking for a gig.

Matt:

No no, no, no. I love dogs. I don't love owning a dog.

Joe:

It's like I love kids just not other people's. Yeah, yeah, i feel that.

Matt:

All right. If we got anything else, Joe, I want you to bring it home.

Joe:
