Speaker 1:

What is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight podcast. Sorry, joe, was a minute late, so we try to be as abrupt as we can.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was locked in. At least I was locked in.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Just not present.

Speaker 1:

Just not present. I'm the man behind the curtain over there, so welcome everybody to another show this week. We got you know throwing it out there the FedEx cut playoff. It's the season is over. Some of our friends didn't make it, but the playoffs are here and there's some other things we want to talk about. How are you guys doing? Doing good, yeah, joe.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, not too bad. Made a pot roast tonight and turned out pretty good. Oh, wow, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So Brooklyn first day at high school, emma's last year high school. It's an exciting time over here at the Wang and Yacht residence For those two. Both had pretty good days, so it's pretty nice. What's? When's Theo start preschool or?

Speaker 2:

Well, that's why it was late, because we were just like talking about that. That's why it was like walking in. It's like yeah, I mean there's because everybody's posting pictures and shit like that. So we see it all and it's like, well, like, is it time?

Speaker 1:

I mean, You're not on Facebook, so you didn't see Dan. He always, every year every year you post the same picture. I get it. Your kids are going to school today, yeah, so I just posted that just for you.

Speaker 2:

Hey, in Favalora like I mean, that's a great tradition. I don't know if you saw us post on Instagram they go to like lunch every first day of school. Like, let the kids go.

Speaker 3:

No, I legit lunch the last couple of years they went to Lari's.

Speaker 2:

The last couple of years I've taken the kids Salty season.

Speaker 1:

Like the Friday before school starts to lunch, but I just totally forgot to do this year. Bad dad, Bad dad. So you know I had a good first day and looking forward to it, let's get into a little golf, clearly. Hey, repping the Chippy Dice man for Joe.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean that's just. Yeah, I appreciate it Global.

Speaker 1:

He's everywhere, he's everywhere.

Speaker 2:

I mean he's getting around, he definitely is yeah, he's definitely getting around.

Speaker 1:

Was in Arizona recently.

Speaker 3:

So when's?

Speaker 1:

the next drop Joe. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

People want to know, I've been thinking about it Like I'm thinking about doing the.

Speaker 1:

He's on his kid's Wi-Fi again.

Speaker 2:

Perforated. No, I turned that off. That router is gone. I don't have the Logitech hooked up because my battery's dying on my head. But I'm, you know, the perforated, like waterproof kind of style hat I have. I've been talking to someone on Alibaba and with the PVC patch and then it greens on the side, so close to pulling the trigger.

Speaker 1:

I have a.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to try and meet up with this graphic designer on Saturday and just kind of like talk, talk about some things and just like, because I really you know all those fucking inspirational bullshits on Instagram. It's like you got one life, fucking live it. So you're like, yes, the people need hats. Yeah, I mean, I know.

Speaker 1:

People need t-shirts.

Speaker 2:

Not going to go all out, but I would like to do something. You know, at least once a quarter, maybe once every month. You know just something and it's, it's not. It's not, like I've said before, it's not to get rich. I didn't get rich off those shirts. I mean it's cool to see your shit posted on Instagram Like it's, it's, it's really awesome. I've always wanted to do it since, since I was like a skateboarder back in the day. Like I always wanted to start like a clothing brand. It's not really a clothing brand, it's like a it's, you know, it's. I feel like hitting greens feel feels like a space in the golf industry that's not there. Like there's all these other bullshit companies doing it. Like we get ads all the time on Instagram, right. Like you know, and it's it's just me. You know it started with me and Mike and it's just like homegrown. My all the Instagram followers are organic. I talk to all of you. But, yeah, I've always wanted to do it. So I'm like, I'm at that point where I'm like, fuck it, let's, let's do it. I'm going to meet with a graphic designer, hopefully this weekend, which you both know, and just try and like, be like, let's, let's collab, let's do it, you know. So next year up, hopefully coming soon, I'm in talks with Alibaba doing like a you know the beanies that they do like Wolf Creek around the, the hitting greens around the edge, and then like a PVC patch, and I'm trying, so we'll see Nice.

Speaker 3:

Nice, Like I'm going to be on Cactus in your next design. I mean absolutely.

Speaker 2:

If that is highly requested, yes, and you know, on cactuses, or can be done.

Speaker 1:

Jeremy and I are perusing.

Speaker 2:

I just wish I could draw man, because I'm the I've always been the idea guy like I got the ideas. But I can't. I can't put it down on fucking paper, I can't make you know renderings of it. I just can't do that part. But I have the ideas. So we'll see Next job, hopefully coming soon.

Speaker 1:

Okay yeah, Jeremy and I were perusing the new Ping Hooper bag releases and there's a neon cactus one that's pretty sick.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, pretty sick. It's all black with bright lime green, highlighted neon looking cactuses.

Speaker 2:

I had like a really good idea last night and Dan knows that I texted Dan about it. I talked to Chase and Ace's about it. It would take a really creative mind to pull it off but I think it would be really cool and it would tie into the hip hop culture kind of vibe. But it's a long ways away. But like I said I'm the idea guy, I just I can't put it out there.

Speaker 1:

A little nugget. A little nugget for everybody. Keep an eye out for that.

Speaker 2:

You know life's too short.

Speaker 1:

Hey, happy to be late to Harry Hall His birthday was yesterday. So happy birthday, harry. Special thanks to all the people on YouTube right now watching us. Thank you very much. We really appreciate it. The subscribers are climbing slowly, but it's happening, so thank you for your support, and if you're on YouTube watching right now, drop a little comment. Let us know you're there and who's, so we know who's hanging with us tonight. All right, joe, you were out and you went over the hump out to the perump. I did Got a little golf in at Mountain Falls. That I did. So let's let's get the Mountain Falls report.

Speaker 2:

Mountain Falls is great. Currently $75 for the tee time it's. It's in really good shape. Played with Trey, dan and Zach, who was Zach's first time out there. He's obviously seen a lot of cool courses in his life. I mean he, he, he enjoyed it and greens were great Couple couple ballmarks that were unfinished being fixed, but it was great. I was able to roll roll in four birdies, which is two over my quota for per round, and I also rolled in a couple like a few more doubles. I just you know I want to around just to soul fill like a little fill the soul a little bit, but I did go over my double buggy quota a couple times. So yeah, but it was good man. I mean it probably looks the exact time that we were out there for the VGN tournament. I mean it's it still looks great. It's fun course, very reasonable in price. Yeah, I love Mountain Falls and it feels closer than Coyote Springs to drive, I mean, although they're pretty similar.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, it's nice because you're out of town quickly, I mean, except blue diamond tapes, absolutely forever to get down sometimes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I mean, but you can stop at Target or Walmart if you need to or you know there's tons of jobs there now pick up a Band-Aid or whatever the case may be, like some good restaurants on the far west end too, yeah, but I mean Mountain Falls is. I've never had issues with Mountain Falls. I've always enjoyed going out there and it, like I said, it feels pretty quick. It almost feels like a Paiute Drive and it's always been in good shape when I've gone out there, and the last weekend was no exception. So nice it was fun to get to play with Trey and chat some Washington golf because I played with them since we went up there and it was cool to see Zach. So, yeah, it was a good time.

Speaker 1:

So to talk about the drive and this course, I'm looking forward to our rankings. If we do a rankings episode this year, I know we may wait and do it every two years because it can be kind of redundant and with all the changes going on to a lot of the courses, we may save it for 2024. But if we were to do the rankings today, I think Mountain Falls would seriously climb, and another one that and there's going to be a lot of people that are going to be shocked to hear me say this Alliantay is doing some really good things right now. We were out there this past weekend. There was eight of us that went out there to get a little practice round in Some of the VGN guys. It was nice, got to play with a couple of people I haven't played with before Matt Boyd and Jack Jarocchi and you know it was a good time. The course is in really good shape. I've never seen it this green. I've never seen it this receptive. There's actually rough now. That's like it's a penalty shot. If you're in the rough it's virtually a penalty shot because it is thick. There were times we drove right next to the ball or walked next to it and didn't see it. So everybody's going to have to pay attention really well to where it's going in if you're off the fairway. But fairways are in great shape, the greens were excellent, all of them were, they rolled true and were you get your ballmarks. You know it's a public course like that. That's got decent rates. So it's going to get a lot of play. Bunkers were iffy in some spots. Nothing terrible though, nothing like legacy or the old revere buggers, but I think everybody's going to have a really good time. I'm stunned, disappointed, shocked, upset, bothered, whatever. We only have 48 players for this one and I really thought we were going to be able to get 60. No problem, end of summer. But you know this shit happens. People travel, people got jobs, things change, you know and and I understand that. So it's just, it's I got to get over it, you know. This is why I wanted 100 players, because if we can get 60%, that's 60 players a tournament and that my goal to have that many guys out there for an event. Because the payouts are great, the the fee, the flights are great and everybody has a really good time. So we'll see if we can get that. For Coyote, the next major, we're up to 50 for that, but we'll talk more about that later. But yeah, so if you get a chance to get out to Aliantay, do yourself a favor, check it out. It's in really good shape and yeah, that's except for the range. They got to figure out what they're doing on the range because Matt was telling me that he brings one of his little small hitting mats with him because most of the time it's dirt. There's plenty of grass around there. There's just it's not marked out for you to hit in.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I don't think I've ever played that course when there's any shades of green on it, so I'm looking forward to playing it green.

Speaker 2:

We did, we did play it once when it was green. I know me or you went out there. No, it was probably like a year or two ago, but we went out there one time and we were like never seen it like this in my entire life.

Speaker 3:

Actually, yeah, the last time we played there, probably, I think it was like less than a year, probably like a year ago, exactly to the day.

Speaker 1:

It's, I'm impressed, I'm impressed. It's definitely moved up the ranks a couple, a couple Nice, all right. So this weekend, you guys, either one of you playing Saturday or you saving it for Sunday, just Sunday, sunday. Just Sunday, yeah, we got the Rio Seco two man best ball event that's going on. There's 32 guys in that, so we got 16 teams. It's going to be. It's going to be fun, man. That's 630 start time at one of my favorite courses in town. I'm good.

Speaker 2:

I just I got to. I got to hand in a few more beer cans to get the to pay it back. So yeah, that's going to be a blast. It's.

Speaker 1:

I've been driving by it and it's, it's looks so good and I know they're getting ready to shut down for overseas, so hopefully they're. They haven't beat the course, so I'm going to be, I'm going to be, I'm going to be on for overseas, so hopefully they're. They haven't beat the course up too much, but it this last week driving by a man it looks, it looks really good, so that should be a good time, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. All right, so FedEx Cup is here. Oh, you got any want to go over any other news Did you see? The schedule came out.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm pretty proud in case they don't.

Speaker 1:

I couldn't find the fall or whatever the hell they're calling it now. But the, the regular schedule is out, so we got that, and then Black Desert is going to take place before the, or is it before or after the trainers?

Speaker 2:

Oh, I didn't see that part. I watched the PGA tour. A little video like Polaroid video that they just got they're just promoting them the regular season, which I totally understand, that's.

Speaker 1:

That's where the big bucks are at. But yeah, I think Golf week came out with it first and they had the fall schedule on there as well, and I think Black Desert is the week before Shriners. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, it makes it. I mean before, after.

Speaker 2:

Either way it's going to be something like that so my main thing from this past weekend is does Bryson's 58 qualifier for the Ryder Cup?

Speaker 1:

No. Next question.

Speaker 2:

I've seen it, so I've seen a few people, obviously.

Speaker 1:

Adam. So many people are saying that Adam mentioned it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, quite a few like stories and posts on Instagram about like Bryson deserves being the first. Yeah, he's playing well, right, Like he played pretty good in what two of the majors this week this year something like that. He played decent.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. Check that out, Jeremy. See what we got.

Speaker 2:

The. I mean like yeah, bryson's great, but he's like you mentioned, he's a like a he's a clubhouse cancer. Yeah, he's a splitter like he's. He's on a bond or he's a splitter.

Speaker 3:

You think he is?

Speaker 2:

still, I feel like he's changed a bit. He has changed a little bit. I mean he he has some height on that jump for sure. I mean it looked like he was just throwing out an X for Xander or something. But I mean, look, bryson is a great player, 100% like, and he can play. But to all those saying that he deserves to be on the Ryder Cup yeah, maybe, but what I mentioned to you guys in the chat, it's like what we don't have as far as USA Ryder Cup is a player that can unite a team, and I think that's what we're missing and I don't think Bryson is the answer to that.

Speaker 1:

I don't think he's the answer at all.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we need someone like such as like a I don't know if JT is like a uniter, like like. We need someone like a, someone to unite the team, and I just don't think the US team has that currently.

Speaker 3:

And hopefully Zach.

Speaker 2:

Johnson knows that, sees that and he'll probably pick someone that can unite the team. I mean, if he's a good captain, so yeah, I if, if Bryson, or if, if anybody that deserves it.

Speaker 1:

That's getting in Brian Harmon and he's getting in basically because he won a major and played on the PGA tour all season.

Speaker 2:

Same with Wynnum Clark.

Speaker 1:

Brooks Kepke played great in the majors. That's why he's there. You know, had Bryson played well on the majors and got enough points, then he would deserve to be there. But you know I wanted to put out there if a player shoots a 58 in the West Virginia Woods and nobody hears it, does it count?

Speaker 2:

I mean look yeah, I mean I'm not gonna take anything away on a final round. To win a tournament is incredible.

Speaker 1:

And he had a bogey on that round.

Speaker 2:

So there's one other person that's done it.

Speaker 1:

Well, I mean it was a part is it was a par 70 right, because he was 12 under, so I mean it wasn't 14 under, so there's a little bit there.

Speaker 2:

So what did Jim Fjord do? Did Jim Fjord shoot 14 under no?

Speaker 1:

he was 12. No, as well, he was 12. So there's a 70.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so, bryson I mean Bryson, he had.

Speaker 3:

He had a E4 at the PGA championship. But yeah the next best is T20, T60 and missed cut at the Masters.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't. I don't deserve it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, only one according to how they pick the players.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean yeah, he's probably heating up, but I mean it.

Speaker 1:

It doesn't mean a Ryder Cup because you, you want to live event. Yeah that's my opinion.

Speaker 3:

I agree, he's only had four top 10s in live events. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And it's not like live events are stacked you know. Yeah, it's, it's golf, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I definitely don't think it qualifies him. I you know a 58 does not mean you are automatically a fucking team. Error, the Ryder Cup Like it, doesn't. You have to man on a par 70, 1200. Okay, so that's a 60. So, yeah, I mean, usually the lowest we see is like a 62. So you've made two more putts. If he played better in the majors, yeah, potentially. If he got a couple more top 10s, like if he top 10, all the other majors and then he had that T4, whatever, you would probably have enough points. Yeah, totally, but he's. But the thing is, like I mentioned, he's not a uniter. We need that. That's what we need.

Speaker 1:

We need a team aspect, we need a leader and the only reason he's playing in these events is because he won the US Open and had the five year exemption and all the majors.

Speaker 2:

So he's not going to be playing in.

Speaker 1:

Well, who knows, with how all this shit happens, what's going to happen next year with all this stuff, but I don't know, we'll see. I mean, I like Bryson. I beginning of the year before Liv happened. I said you know he was going to win the FedEx Cup, because I thought he just had found something and was was. Then he heard himself and then he stopped playing and and then said it's not about the money, and that's what I went on, Jesus. Okay, so who? I?

Speaker 3:

mean, if Bryson's not the answer, who? Who is there out there that's not currently on the team?

Speaker 2:

That's the hard part is I don't know who's who's out there that can be the you know the leader. Let's see. Like we got Wyndham Clark in, we got Brian Harmon. I don't feel like those guys are leaders. Brooks is not a leader.

Speaker 1:

A homa is homa. We don't know yet he could be.

Speaker 3:

I don't think you I don't.

Speaker 2:

I don't see him as like a leader yeah.

Speaker 1:

Cam Young could be I mean you? Well, we don't. He's so young in his career, we don't know he could be. You know he could get in there and just be crazy. Jordan Spieth, I think he can be considered a leader. You're on mute, joe, by the way.

Speaker 3:

So you think Shuffler is a leader?

Speaker 2:

I think so, according to like Jordan and Shuffler, like yeah, they're great players, but I don't see them as taking the charge and being like Mark Stone in the fucking locker room, being like let's get this, boys, you know, I just don't see them doing that.

Speaker 3:

I could see, and that's what I'm talking about. I could see.

Speaker 1:

Shuffler doing that. I could see two people doing that right now. That aren't locks, they would be captain's picks, and that's Keegan Bradley and Ricky Fowler. Keegan Bradley I.

Speaker 2:

Rick is a little quiet, though I mean. I could see him I could see him like getting hyped up for it.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

I could see JT doing it, getting into it.

Speaker 1:

Keegan Bradley, that fairytale episode where he talked about when they lost the Ryder Cup and he came home and his bag still wasn't unpacked because he was just so devastated by it that that meant something to him. You know, being there and and you know having an opportunity to win the Ryder Cup and losing and I mean it affected him and that's that's what I think they need. I think they need those players that it means something to them.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know, it's not just hey.

Speaker 2:

I got enough points. I'm going to say you don't know when you're getting back here. Let's fucking get it done this time, because you don't know when you're going to be having this chance again. Yeah, yeah, keegan. Keegan is a decent choice. I mean he plays with Jordan, so Xander is too quiet. I think at least two quiet.

Speaker 3:

He's too quiet.

Speaker 1:

Harman's too quiet.

Speaker 2:

When.

Speaker 1:

I'm Clark is too green, Too green. Shaeffler, again too green too, quiet Brooks, is he's going?

Speaker 2:

to be in a corner again.

Speaker 1:

They're, they're. You know I we're going to, I'm going to have to give the old tip of the cap to Greenlee. He's called this. He did weeks ago, weeks ago. He may be on to something because you go down the other ones Morakawa, he's complaining about dance, so that's, that's not. You know, sam Burns, jt I think JT is a guy. Yeah, not Danny McCarthy. Not Kitty Yama, not Will's Altaurs, because he can't even play. Not Harris English, maybe Tony Fina.

Speaker 3:

I mean, tony Fina has the rally player. He's like the, he'd get the best out of some Hawaiian dances and it pump every one.

Speaker 2:

He's like the, he's like the co-captain, like like he's the hype man yeah.

Speaker 1:

The hype man Exactly, but I could see him taking on a role. I mean, you know, big family guy.

Speaker 2:

One of the most likeable guys on tour.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, you know, I think if Tony Fina came in a room was like dudes, what the let's go yeah they may go wow OK.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, guys, what the hell.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it takes him like he. It takes him doing that. I just don't see him doing that, you know. But has he been in a situation? But do I know him? I don't know him. Look at the other rider cups.

Speaker 1:

Look at the other rider cups. You know.

Speaker 2:

Tiger.

Speaker 1:

Phil DJ. All these. You know power. You know figures that are if you're in a room with they, they lead the show. You know they use their.

Speaker 2:

After this. The Wyndham championship I would love. I would love to see JT in it because the way he fought back to almost make the playoffs like that fucking windmill spin club shot. That was nasty and I mean, he knew that he had to make that chip shot and he gave that shit a run.

Speaker 1:

Oh, how did that not drop?

Speaker 2:

Katie was folding laundry and she snapped her head back because it was. I mean, it was so close and like so close. I think, I think personally, like JT would be the player to be the leader and unfortunately I don't think he's going to make it. I don't think he's going to be captain as big.

Speaker 3:

But I don't think, you don't think so I think he is going to.

Speaker 2:

I don't think so, but I mean I'd love to see it.

Speaker 1:

I think you'd have to get you'd have to get rid of either Homer Cam Young, jordan speed, keegan Bradley, colin Mark or Ricky in the top seven through 12. Homer Young or who? Ricky speed Keegan Bradley, colin Mark or Fowler. I think he could get more of miracle code. I wouldn't be mad.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think that's the one you could get. You got to have some experience I think Homa gets really hyped for the you know and you know how about? I mean In the Predecessor Cup. I mean we saw him get hyped.

Speaker 1:

Bones being there, you know yeah totally. And that's a huge asset to not just JT Totally.

Speaker 2:

I mean to the whole locker room, to the whole team to the other caddies like that's a you know, oh Jude, please, it's a captain situation where JT they all know that he has Tiger's ear.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

You know, and Tiger's gonna be in the ear JT, I think, I don't think it's gonna happen. I want it to happen and I think it'd be great if it happened, because JT comes alive in those situations. So we'll see, we'll see. Do you want to put some money on it?

Speaker 3:

You want to put a like an adult beverage on it. Joe, I don't drink tru-lies.

Speaker 2:

No, we don't, I'll take it tru-ly, I'll buy you, whatever you want.

Speaker 3:

Whatever you want, I'll buy you some celtzer foofy.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so if JT makes it, I buy you a tru-ly Yep, and if JT does not make it, you buy me a double try you an old fashioned neat.

Speaker 1:

Buy me a $130 bottle of bourbon, totally Okay, I hope you make it. I hope you win.

Speaker 2:

I hope you win Well.

Speaker 1:

Favve sent me a message asking if Jeremy was okay, if he was gonna, cause JT didn't make it to the playoffs. I see you have a speed send, so he's all right, speed send, I'm good.

Speaker 2:

Speaking of, I mean, that was some of the best drama we've seen in a while.

Speaker 3:

Adam Scott, fighting it, fighting to get it in.

Speaker 2:

I mean, JT has not missed the playoffs since the beginning of his career, like eight years right. Only Couture is the only player left that hasn't yeah, I mean it's it provided great drama. He's a well-known, recognized player and it I had to tune in, like obviously I had Russell Henley and the birdies and bourbon wanted done so yeah, you made some waves there. Got close, but to see like JT battling it out and that was great drama, that was really. I feel like that was really good for the PGA tour.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 2:

It was.

Speaker 1:

I just I would like to see them try to bring that kind of drama to the couple events that preceded these. You know the three M and and what was the other one? I remember, but just to you know majors. Well, I'm not the majors, they, they, these last couple events, what the?

Speaker 2:

hell yeah, the open. The open was one of the last three M not a lot of drama.

Speaker 1:

Shut up. It's true I'm talking about. I'm not talking about that. The majors always have an audience and attention you want to watch because it's the majors.

Speaker 2:

I'm talking about drama, though.

Speaker 1:

I'm talking about these other events after the open that kind of hit a lull and nobody's really excited about when them three M that they could, you know, really utilize this ranking and where you are and how many points and.

Speaker 2:

I think that was. What was great is, JT was in the quest to get into the playoffs and he never played the three M and he committed to it like. And then he played the wind up because he's trying to get in like. That's awesome.

Speaker 1:

So 617 points got 70th place. Jt was 71 and he got 608.

Speaker 2:

So it was like three points, shy, right, yeah. Well, no, it was nine, nine points, yeah.

Speaker 1:

They. If you go to the decimals, yeah, it was probably like eight, eight and three quarters or something. So I mean, gosh, that's close. That's close, but I did. Let's see before we get into that. Let's do this first, let's get. I want to give Harry a little minute here because it was his first year on tour. He said after after the season wraps up and I know he's getting married that he'll come on and talk about his experience on the tour this year. So we'll have that later on. But he finished 88th at 499 points. It looks like 600 points is going to be the break. You know it. The schedule should mimic next season as far as the events and points and everything. Um, he played in 28 events, uh, made the cut in 16 of those. He had five top 25s and three top 10s. I made a cool $1.4 million on the year.

Speaker 2:

So he's in right that I was trying to see if you can find that, Jeremy.

Speaker 1:

Well, I don't know if the 125 get to keep their card or cause I know they changed it. The playoffs it's 70, but I don't know if it's a hundred, or if it's 125 get to keep it.

Speaker 2:

So he's no laying up today and Zach Blair finished like 126 and he's like a good friend of the no laying up podcast, so um they, he was like he still gets to play in like 18 events next year.

Speaker 1:

So I he's going to have priority course, various status and then, I'm sure, with the sponsors, exemptions and how?

Speaker 2:

so here here he was 88th, you said finished, finished, 88th yeah. Yeah, so here that's the 88th top player in the league in the tour. Yeah, he's in, he's got it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, he's in. So players who finish outside the top 70 will play in the FedEx Cup fall series to basically improve their positioning and then at the conclusion of the season, the top 125 retain their card and they get full, full exemption into the next full event fields, including the players championship.

Speaker 1:

So as long as he doesn't drop out of 125 in the fall series.

Speaker 2:

He's got his card.

Speaker 1:

He's good, harry's good, yeah Cause. Yeah, he should be fine he is. Yeah, he'll take that, that 499 that he accumulated on this season, add to it and then he'll have a new total at the end of the fall season. That's how they're doing it. So then I looked at the, the bottom. Uh, uh, call them the, uh, the lucky seven, um, the guys that are uh 70, 69, 68, 67 on down right, and um looked at their OWGR rankings. The lowest OWGR is 159. And guess who that is?

Speaker 2:

And.

Speaker 1:

Griffin no close, not bad. Uh. Vincent Norman um, he, uh is 64th in the FedEx Cup. Oh wait, no, that's not right. 68. 68. Yeah, and uh won 1.5 million on the season. He played 26 rounds. Uh, nick Hardy is next up. He's 139, won two and a half million dollars. Finished 50th in the FedEx Cup. He played in 29 events. It's, it's interesting, these guys, they played a lot of events 27, 30, 29, 28, 28. Um, but they're all in the hundred plus OWGR, and they're in um. Sam Stevens uh, $2 million on the year. Finished 64th um 115 in the world. Bo Hossler got in. He's 114 in the world, played in 28 events, $2.1 million. And so the guy who won the least is uh 1.5 million. That's Norman, and he's the lowest OWGR rank. So he's very happy to be there. Yeah, he's very happy to be there.

Speaker 2:

So I mean, just make the cut, you're set for life. You just make the cut.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

It'd be interesting to see how many of those, those 50 to 70 players, make it into the um BMW yeah, the BMW yeah.

Speaker 1:

Top 50. I like this format. I think I think 70 is a really solid number. I think 125 was too many. That's half half of the tour gets to the end of the playoffs. I like they're being a little bit more on the line and you have to be, you have to be, you know. I mean I know the NFL, half the league makes the playoffs and and baseball used to be I mean baseball back in the day was one team from each league with the best record play in the world series. Um, playoffs and sports has come a long way and I and I like this. I like it at 70. I think it's a good solid number. Um, let me look at all the guys that aren't making it. That would have made it last year. Yeah, that they're out, so it's going to. I mean, I think a lot of these guys that didn't make it, that were close, are going to be really looking at their schedule and determining did I play enough events, should I played more? And uh, yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think it's mixed it up a little bit, which is which is nice. I mean, like I said earlier, is uh, jt being the most notable player that has not met, you know, missed the playoffs which is I think it's good. I mean it, it screams there's new players coming out, there's better players. If you want to say that, um, yeah. I think. I think I think it's good. I mean I think it was great for golf, but, um, yeah, I mean JT being a notable player and missing in the playoffs is pretty interesting, and I think it's great for the PGA tour. Yeah, and I think the as much as I don't want to see it.

Speaker 3:

I think it's good. I think events like the Shriners, especially for us, since we can go, we're going to see some new players there. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Now I wonder if, if you didn't make the play or if you made the playoffs, so let's say you miss, you don't make the BMW when you're 50 through 70. Are you eligible for the fall events? You think so? Right, yeah, but would I guess if you make enough points, you're not. If you I'm just thinking of is it advantage to have those extra points going into the fall events? But if you make a lot of, because points are quadrupled, um, for this, the first two, um, but if you make enough point, you're going to still be in the playoffs.

Speaker 3:

So, but if you, just if you get to the BMW and you don't make the 30, those I have to look at that and see yeah, so all players for all players Yep Are with status for 2023, are eligible to play in the fall series.

Speaker 1:

But I think if you made it to the BMW you're fine. You don't have to worry about coming to the track.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, a lot of them are probably going to take that extra time off.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they'll be fine, I like it. I like it. Oh, what about um uh Phoenix not being a uh signature event? There's another new name for him now.

Speaker 2:

Oh, is that changing it again?

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's a signature event, so we've had designated elevated signature. Interesting yeah, so it is uh, the, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which I think is just absurd to make a celebrity pro-am a signature event. The Genesis is back as one. Arnold Palmer is back as one. Rbc heritage is back as one. Uh, wells Fargo at Quill Hollow. Then the memorial, the travelers, genesis, scottish Open. Oh wait, no that's, we need some fucking new golf courses.

Speaker 3:

Did you say RBC? Heritage is still or is not one.

Speaker 1:

And then you look at, well, my printer printed this out so damn small. Even with my super eyes I can't tell the difference between an asterisk and a pound sign. Did it turn on the paper?

Speaker 2:

yellow also.

Speaker 1:

No, I bought some yellow paper to print the uh CTPs on and it's too thin, so I'm like, well, fuck it, I'll just use it for my regular paper. But that may be a mistake. Uh, travelers is a signature event, would you say heritage.

Speaker 3:

Uh, the Harbor Town, yeah, RBC heritage.

Speaker 1:

Uh, let's see Wells Fargo memorial. Yes, it is, yes, that is a plus, yeah, interesting. So the last one on the schedule is the travelers.

Speaker 2:

Because was it same, was it Raka's?

Speaker 1:

mortgage this year, or was it travelers? It was travelers, right. Yeah. Yeah, the memorial, the US Open and the travelers signature, major signature. And the Gensis Scottish Open is just a co-sanction with DP Tour events, not a signature, so it's going to be interesting. I mean, the offseason for golf is going to be quite entertaining, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Quite, yeah, it does. It does add some interesting situation to the offseason, for sure.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think it'd be helpful if they kind of push the stories a little bit like positioning and just like you said earlier. It's like they need to make it interesting. Let's keep track of where these guys are at, like when they're hitting the ball. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

Like I know they update stuff, but just let's, let's know where they're at and there's so much tech going on now in TV and with apps and I mean, like the Masters, they get it. Yeah, try to bring some of that to these events. Yeah, make them entertaining. Don't just show Rory Rom and Sheffler. I mean everybody wants to see those guys, but you know there's there's 70 other golf shots from 67 other players that people want to see.

Speaker 2:

Well, if you're able to expand the storylines of other players, that just promotes the longevity of, like, the players that are coming up. So obviously there's nothing wrong with that, because anybody that's younger than Shuffler or Rory or JT or whoever they're going to be the future face of the PGA Tour.

Speaker 1:

So why don't you invest that time into them now to build the stories so that we make us find a reason for us to, like Wyndham Clark Totally, tell a story that's going to make us go damn, let's watch, you know yeah.

Speaker 2:

Like I mean obviously in the Instagram age. Like I'm a big fan of Minwoo Lee currently because I see him on Instagram and like he's, he has like a tagline and he's creating a story for himself and he'll probably be one of the up and comers and you know, it's just create the storylines for the future people that are coming up behind your current superstars, because you have to develop that story that way. We continue to be interested in the tour, or else you're fucked.

Speaker 1:

Tiger's not playing right now. No he's not out there to dominate the headlines, and there's only so much expectations Rory Rom and Shephler can meet in the eyes of the golfing world. So let's, let's try to find some other stars are not necessarily stars, just people, interesting characters, interesting characters, you know it's, it's literally. At the end of the day, it's WWE, I mean look at what the freaking cranberry drink and Harry Hall video did, or Harry Higgs video did for him.

Speaker 2:

What did you say Is?

Speaker 1:

that? What did you say?

Speaker 2:

I said at the end of the day it's fucking WWE yeah let's bring characters sell like create characters. You have a lot of characters on tour, make them develop their stories. I mean, this is Vince McMahon playbook, like if Vince McMahon has a fucking book, read it. I mean, you're developing characters, you're developing storylines. Like, make it a story.

Speaker 3:

Exactly, I don't think anyone's going to line up to buy a stuffed Wyndham Clark wrestler style toy, but maybe Rory McElrides?

Speaker 1:

You never know.

Speaker 2:

But I mean in the same like in the scheme of things, like if you develop characters in your tour, people are going to be drawn to those characters from those stories and it's going to create a loyal fan base going on into the future.

Speaker 3:

Maybe that's why I live did their teams.

Speaker 2:

Maybe, but I don't think they're doing a great job at selling the story of the character. I mean, their whole playbook is these are the Yankees, the four races of the Yankees, you know, and I understand that like dynasties and all that shit. But we, as psychogolfers that we are, like we want to know the player and we want to be able to relate to them and we want to watch them fail and we want to watch them excel. So create the storyline and if you are able to do that with the up and comers, they're going to, you're going to have viewers for their entire career. Just like I was a kid, I watched fucking Ahmed Johnson and Sean the heartbreak kid Bret Hart, you know, like there were storylines, I mean. I don't want, I don't want fabricated storylines, but I want to know what's and that's what's great about the Netflix thing. I wish they could push that out quicker than they than they are, you know because that would get.

Speaker 1:

it would draw people here before the before Eastlake, if that dropped before Eastlake. Yeah, I mean, you know they can capture the drama leading up to Eastlake, before Eastlake.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like a reality show. But I mean not a reality show, not a fabricated reality show, but something that they can do. And I mean that would be insane if they could do that, Like if we could follow the players along their path throughout the course of the year. I mean not not real time, that's obviously doable, but have you guys watched the quarterback thing on on Netflix. Yeah, yeah, no with with Mariota and no, I saw that. I saw that I had heard about it. Brad Marks told me about it.

Speaker 1:

It's really good, it's really easy, casey Fence. So I guess yeah, I know it was really. I mean, I didn't want to watch it and Erica was watching it and I it was good, it was really good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think. I think it's been. It's been such a long time since we saw Netflix. What was it called PGA?

Speaker 1:

Tour.

Speaker 2:

Full swing. Like if they could drop those like in four episode increments throughout the year. Like oh yeah four drops, like I think it would help. And if they were able to create characters and I'm using it loosely because I don't want it fabricated, of course, yeah, but if they could create storylines throughout the season, you know, dropping increments like ABCD, like three episodes each drop, like throughout the year, I think that would be sick.

Speaker 1:

It would be nice, like the, the, the three events or the four events in April, when May hits, those come out in the four events in. May, when they're done, then they come out of June, you know, and just that way, you're watching something as something's progressing, yeah, in front of you, and you're like, oh shit, I remember this guy from episode back in April and now he's leading the tournament. I'm going to tune in to watch.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't remember people going now.

Speaker 1:

Who the hell is that guy?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I just I think PGA could do a really good job, because there there are a shit ton of characters on tour, and if they took Vince McMahon's fucking playbook, I mean they can make it messy TV but don't fabricate the shit like no, you know it's not a storyline, but you can create storylines.

Speaker 1:

OK, so what is, as you guys this, what is something that Rory can do, this playoffs that nobody else has done before?

Speaker 3:

Win three that excups actually is already one. Three.

Speaker 1:

He's one. Three.

Speaker 3:

Win four.

Speaker 1:

That excursion. Well, that was the obvious. But let's outside the box. Any guesses, any guesses. No, no, no, nobody has ever won back to back. Oh yeah, so he's going, he's going for the back to back again for the third time. It's going to be interesting. It's going to be interesting, Joe. Get the odds ready and we'll go over that Speaking of so.

Speaker 2:

CBS has taken over Eastlake this year, right, yep? Did you see that interview with the executive producer and he was talking about the angles that they're trying to get? No, I was I saw like a video about it and he's talking about like the thing that sticks out to me is like, yeah, we're going to have a boat, can we're going to be able to get on the boat? We're going to get the camera across the lake. So I'm interested to see them take over it and maybe we get some new. Maybe we get some new angles this year.

Speaker 1:

Well, you know, they're behind the masters and the master's footage is pretty damn good.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, I mean it could be interesting, Could be. I thought it's currently.

Speaker 1:

All right. So the tour this week? Oh, I don't want that. The Saint Jude championship is at. It's going back to Memphis TPC, what's it called?

Speaker 2:

TPC Saint Jude, no no South.

Speaker 1:

I can never remember that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I had it back there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, tons, tons of you know. All the top players, of course are here for this, except for the ones that are high in the rankings, that are in live. Rory is trying to go back for back and there's just all kinds of BS on here, so it's a 7200 yard par 70 course A Ron Pritchard design. Joe is super familiar with his work. He would green and fuzzy Zeller were player consultants this spring mark. The course is full conversion to Zeon, zoya, there's one to 16 and 18 were finished up. So it's all Zoysia now. Which great waters. Holy crap, that grass. I want it in my living room, it is amazing zigzagging across the fairway. The South winds record is 264, shot by Brooks Kepka. The South wind record is 61 by Tom Lewis, and Alatoris is your defending champion, not in the field. Sorry, willie Z. And yeah, that's all I got. So, joe, let's go over the odds. I'll update our picks, okay, from last week.

Speaker 2:

I'm saying Jude, championship favorite. Scotty Schaeffler seven and one. John Rom eight and a half to one. Rory McRoy, nine to one. Patrick Cantley, xander Shavley 18 to one. Victor Hovland 20 to one. Terrell Hatton, cullamore Cowell 28 to one. Ricky Fowler, tommy Fleetwood, sam Burns, tom Kim 30 to one. Wyndham Clark, jordan Spieth, matt Fitzpatrick 30 to 33 to one. Brian Harmon, max Homa, tony Fienow, jason Day 35 to one. Cam Young 40 to one. Hedekki Russell Henley, 45 to one. Wilson J, seps, Traca, justin Rose 50 to one. You got Eric Kohl 150 to one. All the way at the bottom, 300 to 350 to one. Maddie Niesmith, niesmith, at 301, you got Taylor Montgomery and Mackenzie Hughes.

Speaker 1:

I'm losing my mind right now because I have a team up making the fucking yeah, he's 50, 53.

Speaker 2:

Good for him. He needs to come on the podcast.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've extended him an invite more than once, but he's a busy man, busy man. I know he's going to try. He said he said he wanted to do it, but that was before the season started and there's a lot going on during the middle of the year.

Speaker 2:

How much did he make this year? And there's a down time coming, so like three million.

Speaker 3:

He's probably got a social media manager now the bear, the gatekeeper.

Speaker 1:

Ah, there we are. Ok, sorry, I just I'm still learning how to use my Mac. One of my windows just disappeared and it happened to be the main window for everything, so my apologies for that. All right, so we're just figuring out where we were with our picks last week. So, yeah, the gut feeling. Ryan Moore visiting new level that was a crap bus. He missed this. Missed it by one stroke, so I got no points for that. Joe JT post and, and then Russell Henley and the one and done so. Look, at this guy making a little comeback after you know three out of the last six miss cuts. Then Jeremy had Sam Burns who finished 14th. So currently, as we go into the final three events, oh hey, do you want to carry this through the fall event and have like Total total year?

Speaker 2:

I think we do like a mini fall event.

Speaker 1:

Many fall.

Speaker 2:

OK, I think we all pick like one player for the fall, and then we just follow for the fall, but is it like six events?

Speaker 1:

I don't know. It's more than that, isn't it?

Speaker 2:

Something like that, but I don't think we follow it through the fall. I mean, playoffs are done. That. That ends the season Call done.

Speaker 1:

OK.

Speaker 2:

Unless I'm too far behind.

Speaker 1:

Well, right now, let's see, let's see, I am. Oh, I didn't switch the names. Whoops, I switched the points, but not the name.

Speaker 3:

Seven events.

Speaker 1:

So there's seven events in the fall. Ok, jeremy's got 4,022, joe's 960 points behind him at 3,062. And I'm 72 points behind Joe at 2,989. That's Ryan Morpick. Really hurt any chances. I had to have doing well, but oh well, it is what it is. So it looks like Joe is up first for this week's pick.

Speaker 2:

Oh, four. Ok, let's see, I didn't have one ready I'm going to go with. I think Tommy's got one in the bag, coming 30 to one.

Speaker 1:

Which Tommy, tommy Lee Jones, tommy Tommy.

Speaker 2:

Thomas.

Speaker 3:

Tom.

Speaker 1:

Kim.

Speaker 3:

Tom Fleetwood, tom Hogy Tommy.

Speaker 2:

Fleetwood. There it is 30 to one.

Speaker 1:

Jesus Love that 31.

Speaker 2:

Tommy.

Speaker 1:

Fleetwood 31. All right, Jeremy, who you got?

Speaker 3:

Patrick Cantley, 18 to one. Because I don't want to jinx Gordon Spieth. He's my real pick, but I'm picking Cantley 18 to one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, did I just said, joe, all right, I'm going to go with last year's runner up, sepp Straka.

Speaker 2:

Wow, sounds like a hidden greens pick from two years ago.

Speaker 3:

You know, interesting though last year's event.

Speaker 2:

Sepp.

Speaker 3:

Straka was second, brian Harmon was T three and Lucas Glover was T three.

Speaker 1:

Whoa.

Speaker 3:

And those guys have all won in the last four weeks.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yes, sepp won the John Deere. Wow, that'll be interesting. All right, so that is that. I can close that now, all right. Last thing I don't even know we can get into it if you want to. A little tanker, a little tanker stuff. I got the new BGT shaft for the putter. They changed the graphics on it. It's small, it's like this big now instead of up to the whole length of the shaft. So that was kind of cool. Haven't put it in yet. I was going to wait for the new Garcin grips to arrive, but doesn't look like they're going to be here in time for this weekend. So yeah, I'm probably going to put that in tomorrow. But what I did is because I at Coyote I took the Olsen's long neck out just to check it out and see how it went. It made me realize how much I'm really enjoying putting with the mallet. But the mallet is light. It's a C6 on the swingway scale. So I added some you know, ricky Fowler, wyndham Clark sheets of lead tape to the bottom of it thankfully it's not as big and got it up to D1. And my God does it feel so much better. And then went out and Allianti had 28 putts, made some nice one, a couple of nice birdie putts that were 10 plus feet and putted really well, lagged it really well, except on that stupid first par five on the front and my approach short and the pen was way back and it's had like a 60 footer up a double. It was just terrible. So 28 putts with a three jack. I was really happy with that. But the other thing that I'm working on and I posted a video on my so-called golf life is I'm trying to finally eliminate my early release. You know it's a cast, but not up here, it's down here. Instead of holding that angle through and I've been determined to do this, to figure it out, I moved my net to the backyard and gave myself an area to hit in where I can swing freely and not worry about overhead storage or bikes or you know toolboxes in the way, and I spent way too much time last week on it, really jacked up my hands and unfortunately showed how to Allianti. But I had a guy that's a local here, that is a former professional, that reached out and said, hey, I want to give you. You know, if you're interested I can. I see some things that I could help you with and I'm like yeah. So I started chatting with them and gave me a couple things to work on and much, much improvement. It's still far away from where I want to be but it is so much better than where it was Very excited and a lot of the swing changes that I've had over the last eight months six, eight months that I've kind of not tinkered with my swing because I'm kind of happy where it's at. But when you see that my shaft is straight up and down at impact and you know guys we play with, especially playing with tray, you know the compresses the shit out of the ball so much and and Jeremy, you're well, you just compress a ball so much and you guys turn your seven irons into five irons when you hit them. And I don't do that. My seven iron is a seven iron. You know I'm not. I. I have no dynamic loft or whatever.

Speaker 3:

Or an eight iron or an eight iron Some businesses yeah, um.

Speaker 1:

So I mean, I'm happy with the numbers, but knowing they could be better is is, you know, and I want to. It's not about distance, for me, it's about ability, consistency and ball striking. You know, I want to be able to utilize the club the way you're supposed to and, um, not having that compression. It's, it's really, and what it is is is my, my setup and I. I swayed off the ball really bad and fixed. I fixed that We'll see on the golf course, but at home, in what I've worked on, I got a better feel for it and it's so much better. So I'm kind of excited about this weekend. I'm I'm only going at it at an easy pace this week. I'm just taking it step by step, you know I'm I'm doing 20 minute sessions and stopping and instead of grinding for an hour and a half and bludgeoning my hands. So hopefully some good things to come this weekend.

Speaker 3:

Are you guys on a team? Yes, joe and I, we're going to be.

Speaker 1:

we're going to be team chippy, dice man If Dan if. Dan's listening. You got a matching, I got a Raiders.

Speaker 3:

We're going to be team Raiders.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's easy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Hey Cyrus.

Speaker 2:

Well, we get stroke, so yeah.

Speaker 1:

Well and that okay. So, Jeremy, you took the, the, the USGA handicapping class. It helped me explain this to me, because, uh, double par and Trevor, they, they like to do 75% of your index and they say you know what? It helps eliminate the sandbaggers which I totally understand. So um, I I want to know. So if I looked at me playing the blue teas at Rio and I put Bob playing the black and I put plumber playing the blue right, so Bob's a plus, it takes him to a zero. Plumber is a 1.4. It takes him to a three for the course index. Right At 75% he's still a three. I am a six, seven course index I'm a 10,. 85% I'm a seven. So I lose three strokes but plumber doesn't lose any.

Speaker 3:

I think he probably calculated that wrong.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm doing that in the Gen app.

Speaker 3:

Oh really.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you can do it in the gen app.

Speaker 2:

So which which?

Speaker 3:

which tea. So you said plumber for blues, and then your eyes blues as well.

Speaker 1:

I put me and plumber on the same tease just for sake of argument. So, wouldn't yeah, right, I mean cause.

Speaker 3:

What's his course? Handicap Three from the blue.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. And yours is 10. Mine's 10.

Speaker 3:

And his handicap he gets more shots and you get less.

Speaker 1:

He stays a three at 85% it doesn't. 75%, it doesn't change, and I go down to a seven.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, that's. They didn't teach that in the class I attended.

Speaker 1:

No, yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2:

That's level two, yeah.

Speaker 3:

That's an interesting one I'm going to. You should send that over to me. I'm really curious. I might email them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, cause it, I mean. So what? I an article I found they did 85% and they're saying a plus four would go to a three. They go to zero when you play percentages and I don't know, I just I don't know how. I'm trying to figure it out in my head how that works. I understand I have more strokes, so I should get less strokes because I'm not using as much as my handicap, but for him to not lose any, that's basically saying a one four versus a six?

Speaker 2:

Is it based on him playing the back on?

Speaker 1:

all of his. No, no, that's same tease, but I mean on all of his on his handicap.

Speaker 2:

I mean, who knows?

Speaker 3:

So his 85% of his handicap would be 2.55. Is Trevor?

Speaker 1:

just rounding it up. Yeah, Trevor rounds up. Trevor's rounding it.

Speaker 3:

So you. So so Plummer being a three would go to 2.55, which he then rounded up to three, and you I remember it's 75, not 85. Oh 75?.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I mean 2.25,. I don't know how he's not going to do like that.

Speaker 1:

This isn't a Gen app. This is what Gen does.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I think the most logical thing is, is Trevor's never really handicapped very well on anything that he's ever done?

Speaker 3:

Well, I mean for plus handicaps like whenever I've played with them, he always just makes us zero.

Speaker 1:

Zero.

Speaker 3:

Even if we play in a net game.

Speaker 1:

I mean technically we should be you should be getting plus strokes.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, even more plus. But he's always put us at zero.

Speaker 1:

Plus two, you get a extra. You get a stroke on 17 and 18. You're added a stroke to your score, not deducting.

Speaker 3:

So it could be a little combination of some USGA handicapping and some Trevor level special handicapping.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I sent him a message this morning to ask him what we were doing and he said a lot's going on finalizing today. And then so I sent a Robin message and I'm like, hey, I don't want to bug Trevor anymore. I don't know his schedule, but what are we doing? He goes 75%, of course, indexed. I said okay. I said, look, I'm not complaining, I'm just. I don't understand this and I'm wondering if you understand it. And-.

Speaker 2:

Well, my handicap went up 0.2,.

Speaker 1:

so oh shit.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I've posted my scores the past few weeks.

Speaker 1:

What.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

Oh my good. Well, I posted your score.

Speaker 2:

It's because you played in Washington, right Playing in Washington, but I also posted Mountain Falls, oh wow. Look at you.

Speaker 1:

He knows there's a major coming up with a lot of points. Hey, I sent out emails. I'm trying to get everybody to understand this If we get 60 players and this is a weird one Coyote Springs under new management and they want our 60 players, if we have them, to be paid for 30 days out, so that is August 16th. So that means I have to have everybody's money by August 15th, which is from six days from when this episode goes out. It's Tuesday of next week and if we get 60 players, the VGN, the Vegas Golf Network, is kicking in an extra $1,000 in prize money. So we need Per division no, shut up, not per division no, no, no, an extra $1,000 in prize money will be dispersed across the four divisions. So that's there, if everybody you know-.

Speaker 3:

What are we at right now? 50. So we need 10 more.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and we we have 10. You guys saw the email, we saw the email.

Speaker 3:

So I mean, is that 50 paid?

Speaker 1:

50 committed and half is paid.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so yeah, we need 10. Just have a week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we have 10 people from the 25 who haven't responded and the 25 that said they're not playing to step up.

Speaker 3:

Coyote Springs. It's in prime condition. It's.

Speaker 1:

Coyote Springs. It's a major. We'll see. We will see. If not, I don't know I don't know. Like I said, I have to pay them next Wednesday, so it's not like I have time to wrangle up some guest players or anything like that. So get on your ass, step up and come join us.

Speaker 3:

That's a true test of tournament golf. When you're playing that course and you've got some pressure in a tournament, that's the place to be. That's where you want to do it.

Speaker 1:

Yep, so sign up. Yep, sign up. All right, I'm going to ask if you guys don't have anything.

Speaker 2:

I think that's it for me.

Speaker 1:

Right on. Look at that. What are we at? A little over an hour, it beats the hour and 50 minutes from last week. So All right, joe, bring it home. Let's get the flock out of here.

Speaker 2:

All right, yeah, thanks for tuning in Another episode of Chasing Daylight Podcast. What is this? 232? Something like that? 232. Thanks for tuning in. Sign up for a VGN major coming up. Obviously, we just ranted about that, so the grasshopper open. Cyrus, you need to go out there.

Speaker 1:

Please come on he does.

Speaker 2:

He definitely needs to get out there. We got the FedEx Cup playoffs coming up. It's going to be interesting. We got Ryder Cup coming up too, which is going to be fun. We'll see where the team lies at the end of the year or before that. And yeah, until next week, keep telling your friends, keep telling your family and we'll see. You then Should be Dice man out Later, later.
